Bad floppy

Possibly a silly question, as for once the error message is plain. But how do I fix this?

I have used the disk before without a problem on this drive. Is is the disk or drive?

1) Try the disk on a different PC. If it works ...

2) Try a new disk in the drive. If it still gives that error with the new disk, check the floppy cable. If it still gives the error with the new and the old disk, it's the drive.

Thanks for the reply, but I done all those, it would appear a combination of disk and drive causing the probem.

So what is the problem?

How do I fix a "No ID address mark found on the floppy disk"

You replaced both the cable and the floppy drive?

Then check your BIOS settings. Make sure it's showing up in there and is the right type (99% of the time it should say '3.5" 1.44MB FDD' or similar). If it says something about a 2.88MB, change it to 1.44MB and try it again.

If that doesn't fix it, delete it from Device Manager and reboot.

If that doesn't fix it, keep bumping the thread; someone here is bound to have had this issue.
