You replaced both the cable and the floppy drive?
Then check your BIOS settings. Make sure it's showing up in there and is the right type (99% of the time it should say '3.5" 1.44MB FDD' or similar). If it says something about a 2.88MB, change it to 1.44MB and try it again.
If that doesn't fix it, delete it from Device Manager and reboot.
If that doesn't fix it, keep bumping the thread; someone here is bound to have had this issue.
