Viper, I've never fooled with bios chips, so I can't answer that for sure. it looks like
a rectangle, so it only goes in two ways, I'd assume it was in the correct way direct from the factory but you never know... edit: yea, from the picture, looks like one's dogtaged so it goes in one way.

motherboard outside of the case to make sure that it was not being grounded
or shorted? Have you tried pulling out the memory and CPU, and see if the
motherboard gives you a beep? The processor that you are trying to use with
this motherboard, is known working? Have you tried a different CPU on this
motherboard?
I've tried pulling the motherboard, but I am sure the contacts are fine as well. I tried it without memory, but not without cpu. I haven't been able to test the processor in another cpu, but I did test two others in my cpu, same non-response, so it's not the cpu.
asum, I tested another monitor on the system, no change. I also tested the video card in another computer, and it worked, so it's not the video or the monitor
