Bad News and Good News

Cliff notes version: landlord of 11 yrs who gushed about how we were like “family” hadn’t been paying his house note. He got an agent & they basically forced multiple open house showings the weekend I had chemo. Sold the house & closed on it within days. We get notice we need to be out by July 31st.


Now for the good news, We’re moving to Revere, the place is 300 SQ feet smaller, there is no yard..but we have parking & can walk to the beach. The best part? My two fur children are welcome The property manager has four cats herself & totally understood how I feel about mine

We put down the deposit and the lease will be ready in a couple days, we meet the owner sign the lease and then start sorting through 11 years of stuff to downsize.

I get the beach, it’s not too far from work & most importantly my beloved cats stay with us

Yes and now we have a lease! No more month to month tenancy!

My husband hunted hard for a place we can afford that accepts cats, lord knows how many dumps he had to walk through

Yay, glad your housing situation is getting worked out! And +1 for the cats!

lmk if you want some help getting organized with the move...I've developed a pretty good cleaning/organizational system over the years (I've moved quite a bit over the last decade).

Crappy situation but really if you think about it i think you came out ahead. Beach in walking distance will be huge. And you got to keep the cats which is also huge.

I dont even want to think about how hard it would be for me to find a place of reasonable cost to live around me that allows cats. And my cats are family i would never even consider giving them up, id move out of the city first.

Actually it is! I get the beach, the cats get a lovely window seat in the kitchen, lol the property manager said it was long enough that they can each sit on opposite ends & hiss at each other
