A group of thousands convinced of a jihad, ready to fight to the death are to join the Taliban -- and there are reports of other similarly sized groups trying to do the same.

so what? This isn't going to be a Desert Storm style operation. They can have ten million soldiers and it won't matter because almost this entire war is going to be fought commando style, with a few hundred commandos attacking specific targets, then withdrawing. If they have more soldiers it shouldn't really make a difference.

i see the problem that with more bodies on the taliban's side it will be more difficult to replace their government, which is also a goal we are pursuing. although i do not believe that even a hundred thousand will present too much difficulty but hopefully this will not be a growing tide of sypathizers on the pakistani side of the border. i do wonder how many of these 5,000 that are described are actually afganis in pakistan and how many are pakistanis.

Oh, we have plans for Pakistan. The author of the book "Bin Laden: The Man Who Declared War On America" (excellent book BTW) essentially said that if we want to root-out the source of Islamic terrorism, we have to deal with Pakistan at some point.

We're not just tryin to get osama bin laden...we are dealing a significant blow to all terrorists and terrorist harbouring nations, as well as trying to get rid of those damn taliban.

The more they recruit, the more efficient the bombs we drop are.

They have staged the largest demonstrations to date just yesterday, with (I believe, just heard on TV) tens of thousands of protesters. Thousands of Pakistani men, young and old, had massed in Temergarah on Friday night with assault rifles, machine guns, even rocket launchers. A few even carried axes and swords.

A well coordinated strike with Napalm does not discriminate against nationality.

This brings up images of that road out of Kuwait that we unleashed Holy Hell upon during the Gulf War. And these folks aren't even in armored vehicles. One OA-10 Warthog should be able to light their entire convoy up.

Yep, I can see Pakistan falling, their country will make a nice parking lot too. They've been supporting the Taliban since they created the holy warriors.

This is why we've made such an effort to keep them in the alliance.

Good, take it for what you will but it's not all that uncommon to belittle one enemies with word no matter how un-"PC" it may seem. I hope you say the same when the KKK marches downtown Indianapolis (do they still do that anymore?). I don't know how many times you were in the receiving end of "racial slur" or attacks yourself personally but if you weren't then you can take that bat out of your @ss and get off that high horse you rode in on. If such things made you sick them maybe you should do something about and contribute meaningfully in making a better world or go see doctor, instead of making judgements on others' Bill of Right.:disgust:
