Crazee, My suggestion would be to use a modem and I see that IsOs also mentioned it. I put SetiQ on one box and used my phone line after hours to transfer the data. I was forced to do that because of a corp. firewall. Once it is setup it (which is very easy) it takes little, or no maintenance. I have a box at the cabin on a UPS that I only see every 2nd weekend. I monitor its progress on SetiQ.

Good luck!!

Can't we make a deal with the host (Lanman, I thought) to transer these machines to the Enterprise Crack rack?
I'm sure, we can come up with the money somehow to repay Crazee for the components.
That way, the machines will still be cracking for the team, thought under a different name.

And it would be a fine addition to the Enterprise.

Actually Peter that sounds good to me since it would stay with the Team. I appreciate all the thoughts of alternate ways to set it up, but with work getting very busy over the last few months (we have had some record breaking months) and the fact that I am not in the office alot (I am inside and outside) I would have a difficult time monitoring and maintaining a setup that I couldn't check on from home. If I cannot find an alternative location to put it, I would be willing to sell the entire rack to the Team to add to Enterprise for a considerable discount. As much as I like the production, I want it to stay with the TeAm.

Edit: The modem idea is a good one, unfortunately we have a PBX system that will not allow for a modem. There is only one line that is dedicated going into the building that could be used and that is for the fax machine.

I have $25.00 in PayPal that I could donate right now towards buying one unit. If enough of us chipped in maybe we could buy them all and put them to work as part of ENTERPRISE. What do you say, TeAm?

I wouldn't have a problem donating to put these units in the crack rack, but isn't there someone local that has the room to house these units for Crazee? Maybe we could donate a little cash to them to defray power costs, if that's a worry?

I don't have a problem with housing them, but wonder if the shipping would be worth it, especially with the worry about damage during shipping (my mailman reminds me of the gorilla on the samsonite ads)

If you want me to house them for you though, let me know, I'll just stick em in my basement, I really doubt the wife would even notice. That way, we could use the funds to buy more bp6's, and increase production, instead of moving production around. I get back in a week.

I like LastKnight's idea. I too might be able to host them, maybe at work if I can find some space and they can still crack for Crazee. I would rather see someone host them, than to divert ENTERPRISE funds to existing production units.

I am still looking, but a place here doesn't look good right now. I appreciate the hosting offers, but if some is going to host it for me then I would have to split some of the production as a payment for the costs involved. I will let you guys know as I sort these things out.

Can someone define Hosting--Housing. Does this mean someone will run Crazee's rigs for him.

That's what I mean by it. I would run his crack rack here, and they would still be cracking for Crazee. I wouldn't charge much WUs for hosting. Really I wouldn't.

Bring/ship it up to Spokane. I have plenty of room in my computer room and a 1.5 Megabit connection. Fortunately I also own the company I work for so that permission is not a problem

Man you guys are too much It really touches the heart to see the outpouring of support. I will gladly ship it to anyone who hosts it and will gladly split the production. I don't really care too much about the units going to me as much as I want them to stay with the team. For those who are serious about hosting this let me know and we will work out an arrangement.

Thanks again.....what a great TEAM!

Here are the details on the rack:

9 XP 1800s made up of:

3 ECS K7S5As (SIS 735)
2 ECS L7SOMs (SIS 740)
2 PCChips 841LMRs (SIS 740)
2 Biostar M7VIQs (VIA KM266)

All have integrated LAN, all but the K7S5As have integrated video. I have three video cards for them. The power supplies range from 250W-340W no cases. There are assorted brand and size hard drives with the majority between 1.2GB and 3.2GB.

Looks like WirelessEnabled has the best offer so far, especially since it will be running in a computer room, and bandwidth won't be a problem, nor will permission.

Crazee, you've got an offer of $$ for shipping, and a place to run them, so all you need to do now is box em and ship em.

I used to have to run my modem across a PBX (at least I think that's what it was.) It is possible, and it works even better if you can find the right command string to turn off 56k. Linky to command strings for such things.
