So I recently bought a new computer and was testing my OCZ DDR2-1000 ram. I found out that I'm having lots of errors in the 8000-8192 range, all with the exact same error bits (0080 0000). So that's already quite unusual to begin with (I'm running at 450MHz FSB with 5-5-5-17 at stock 1.8V...I tried 2.1V, and that didn't help at all -- exact same errors). That's unusual part #1, I suppose (an entire row is dead, maybe?).
Then the second weird part was when I took off the case, I hear this high pitched sound. Kinda like leaking electricity. When I pause memtest80+, the noise is gone. As soon as I hit 0 (for continue), it's back again!
Anyone know what're probable causes of these two issues? Thanks!
P.S. If there's one single reason to explain this, I'm going to bet on the mobo being bad (I'll report the result of swapping the RAM later).
