Yea,I may be unreasonable if u think VS450 as replacement of VX450 is right.
They should at least gave any from CX series.
Still if u think I'm unreasonable or greedy then I have nothing to say.

It appears that the VS450W is not 80-plus certified. The VX450W was (Bronze). I think that was the reason why I opted for the CX430 for my computer builds.

I would advise finding a postal address for Corsair to write to and say that you're not particularly satisfied with the replacement on the basis of its lack of certification, and that you would be satisfied with say a CX500 as it is the closest match in terms of its output on the +12V rail (or if you want less of a potential fight, suggest the CX430 without mentioning the 12V rail bit).

The VX range was great IMO, I bought about 50 of them and I haven't had a single one die.

I already send mail to Corsair asking about any from at least CX series.
I have to wait for reply until end of this weekend.
If still ppl think I'm unreasonable little kid then may be I am...

The fact they even offered you anything after you used the PSU for 4 years is pretty cool IMHO, pretty sure they don't offer life time warranties.

They have top of the line PS units, I think its a pretty fair offer considering they could have just said NO. I have there 1200Watt unit and am very happy with it.

Huh? I thought it was mentioned that it had a 5-year warranty. How could they just say "no", if it fails within warranty?

If the VX450W died on the OP in 4 years Corsair isn't being pretty cool for replacing it, they are simply honoring the 5 year warranty.

As far as the replacement they offered, I'm on the fence. The VS does look like a slightly lesser PSU than the VX, but in the end they're both budget, entry level, non-modular 450W PSU's.

I had one of the VX450Ws a while back in an Allendale Celeron rig, and it worked fine for that build. I tried it out with my main rig at the time (Nehalem) when my main PSU was getting RMA'ed (a Corsair HX1000W), and it wouldn't power that rig at all. Put it back in the Celery rig, and no problems... Never did figure that one out...

Incidentally, Corsair replaced that HX1000W for me FOUR times throughout its lifetime. Always promptly and without any hassle. I can't say enough about the top notch service I got from Corsiar, but I will never buy a CWT OEM PSU ever again. My current Corsair AX850 has been running well for years now.

If I was the OP I'd probably take the VS replacement, but consider going with a better PSU in general next time. Perhaps a 500W Seasonic based unit.

Not quite. The VX450W was a Seasonic job.

The VX450 was a very good power supply back in its day, and was made by Seasonic using high quality parts (e.g. Hitachi capacitors).

I actually had a VX450 that exhibited very bad coil whine a few years back. When I RMA'd it through Corsair, they actually replaced it with a TX650 since the VX was out of production.

IMO, the VS450 is not comparable to the VX450. It is clearly a lower-end product than the VX450 was.

VX450: Seasonic OEM, Hitachi capacitors, Adda ball-bearing fan.
VS450: unknown OEM (same as Chieftec based on forum posts), cheap CapXcon capacitors, YL sleeve-bearing fan.

OP, how did you have a VX450 that's only 4 years old? I thought they stopped selling those much longer than that. I'm genuinely curious.

Yea,its not unreasonable and I'm not begging to Corsair for a new PSU.

Thanks!
The following explain why I don't deserve VS450 as a replacement of VX450W.But,if Corsair willing to hear this.

I gave a faulty HX620 to Kaizen Nehru Place, New Delhi (in 2008/9). They gave me a brand new replacement in 3 days without asking any questions. I think your local Kaizen is screwing you up. The VS450 is no comparison to VX450. Write to Corsair directly and use some mature language. Don't sound like a kid cribbing for candy.

U really mean the mature language(u mean F%#@$ words ?) ?
I have written to Corsair India but they screwing me up too.
Kaizen told Corsair sent the VS450 and ask me to call Corsair India for any queries.
Register a complain at https://corsair.secure.force.com/home/home.jsp but no proper reply yet.

Dude, take the replacement PSU (whatever the hell it is they are going to give you) post it in for sale and buy a different brand PSU.

Corsair whores their products out to anybody and everybody. They have PSU's made by 6 different OEM's from CWT to Seasonic, and without THE INFORMATION BELOW you'll never know what you're actually getting. It's also worth noting not too long ago, CWT (Corsair's primary OEM) was pretty low quality, nearly as bad as Etasis and Andyson (Ultra PSU's.)

Stick with something concrete and you'll have it forever.

Quality OEM's are Seasonic, Enhance, and Delta. HEC and FSP quality all over the board but most of them these days are above average...but a decade ago HEC and FSP made some doozies. Most companies have improved, but I still consider CWT, the largest OEM to Corsair, very middling.

I bought at the end of 2010.
Sadly no new reply from Corsair till now.

IMO give them a week or two to respond but have a letter containing your complaint ready to post.

I wouldn't be surprised that a well-written complaint e-mail isn't being responded to quickly, it's probably being bounced around the pinball machine that is a company's internal communications system.

Yea,guess I have no choice.
Actually its prove again that the Kolkata is the worst when it comes to RMA.
There are lots of bad to worst RMA example u will find and sadly this is one of none.

Conclusion: Place really does mater like other things time and person.Corsair may be great worldwide but sucks in Kolkata.

So,I will chose brand based on local experience than international review when I will buy any PC component next time.

Four years is not that short of time. Yeah, you'd like the PSU to ideally last five years without any issues. If I were you I'd check reviews on JonnyGuru before you make any decision. If I were you I'd buy the PSU I want and then save that Corsair PSU you get for troubleshooting. You don't want it as your everyday PSU, but it will be there for use whenever you have issues with your others.

I "second" checking out JonnyGuru. Solid PSU reviews right there.
