So has anyone else been playing with this? I am getting about 160FPS rendering when converting to iPod Touch format at 1500kbits on a 8800GT 512, which is pretty darn nice

The interface looks nice, but it's pretty basic.

But 160FPS? I guess I can live with it

You only get 30 encodes total, and the beta expires sometime at the end of this month.

Edit: Crap. Tried two different encodes, and neither of them play back properly. They have some weird jerking motion in both, and I've tried both iTunes and MPC

Ok, being an ATI card owner I haven't/Can't play around with this, but as an avid video encoder I can take a guess here. It sounds like a frame rate detection issue. I'm guessing your content is 23.976, but the encoder is treating it as 24 even or maybe 23.98. This can introduce some stuttering (it looks like the playback is dropping frames). See if you can manually enter the input and output frame rates manually and have it EXACTLY the same as your source. You should be able to open the video in whatever player you like and go to a file properties tab to see.

ATI has an equivalent solution - the avivo encoder but it suffers from the problem of not being fully developed.
It only has 2 settings profile (divx,ipod etc) and bitrate.

The quality is set to lowest just so ATI can impress us with blazing fast encode rates - it would really help if it could be adjusted so that its set to a more sane level.

On a 4850 I was running around 150-200fps also, at least it lets you encode full video's - too bad the quality is not good enough for anything above ipod.
