I have recently put together a new system. The left front speaker in the Z-2300 2.1 set is audibly louder than the right. When I switch the hookups, it's the right speaker. So the problem is not with the front speakers. I suspect it's in the subwoofer (I assume there is some kind of processor inside where the front speakers are hooked up) or the software. I am using the XFi soundcard, but I think the problem occurs as well with the Nv mobo sound chip - still need to doublecheck that.
I can use the THX tool that came with XFi to reduce the left speaker by 5 dB, which gives approximately the same volume, though the white noise still sounds different. Am I missing something with the settings? Is there any software that provides simple adjustment of the speaker balance between left and right, like on a stereo?
Thanks, Leo
