Sorta, If you are traveling fast enough and stop fast enough it will hit the rear of the car and stop.


Unless you are going really,really,really, fast. Then it will just blow through the rear window.
Like traveling at the speed of light and entering a speed of sound zone.

This had me totally baffled when it was happening yesterday, I would slam on the brakes, and the damn balloon went backwards. I'd accelerate quickly and the damn balloon would go forward. I thought the laws of physics ceased to exist in my truck. Wasn't till I got home and sat down to think about it did it sink in what was happening.

But, you forgot about the air in the car that also has mass. The balloon goes backwards with respect to the car.
