Agreed...I have had no interest in SNL for probably the last five years...

Definitely a quirky band.

If you want to hear how GREAT this band can be, listen to 'Sugar', 'Chop Suey' and 'Inner Vision'.

If you want to hear how CRAPPY they can be, listen to the songs they played last night on SNL.

They are a band that generally frustrates me. They can sound awesome on one song, then they can annoy the crap out of you the next. On some songs, the singer sounds great. On others, he ruins it all by himself.

Best example: Listen to the song 'War'. The band kicks your ass in that song. But the singer's lyrics are terrible. And there's this horrible interlude inbetween.

at least system of a down actually plays instruments and are original. the same can not be said for most bands on the charts. although i must say that radio muzak has taken a turn for the good lately.

I saw their BBC performance from a couple days ago...I think their new single ranks them as #3.

I saw it, didn't know who it was when they were playing (just tuned in as they started playing the first song). After reading this thread, I know I've heard of System of a down before this. Yeah that was weird. That song really takes you to extremes. It was as if either they couldn't make up their mind whether they wanted to head bang or perform a cheap bubble gum style pop song. Or else they're just poking fun at cheap bubble gum style pop songs .

Either way I give them kudos for the originality :thumbsup:. It's refreshing to see bands who aren't afraid to step out of the mold and take chances. ...Yeah, refreshing.

SOAD is aweseme, and against what many are saying here Aerials is one of their worst songs. That stinker should be on their easy listening album.

I agree with Red, BYOB is a great tune.

When I first heard it I wasn't even aware that was them. I'm not all that familiar with them (well to the point of being considered a fan) but when I heard that song it really grabbed my attention. The more I heard it the more I liked it.
