Bands for muscle gain?

Hey was wanting to know if resistance bands would be a good alternative to weight lifting for muscle gain? I am getting a bit tiresome of weight lifting and as always I want to keep my muscles guessing.. but I need a little clarification... will resistance bands provide enough resistance to get me big muscles or will they lag behind weights on this? Should I stick to weight or not? I was gonna buy the 90lbs ones from over here I dont know what that would be in equivalent of bench pressing for example.. if that like a just a 90lb bench press or what... anyone know?

I personally don't think they are necessary. If you practice control throughout the movement of an exercise it should accomplish the same thing. I forget what the exact term is but you know what I mean. For example, if you are doing dumbbell curls, do a slow controlled movement when bringing the weight back to the resting state.

first, define "big muscles"

No a 90lb band will not equal free weights. bands will become progressively more resistant as you expand them.

If you want what I consider big muscles you need to eat right, lift consistently and lift heavy

Agree. Keep your muscles "guessing" by adding on more weight.

Just another farce that shitstains like Tony Horton? (p90x guy..) make a killing off of people desperate to lose weight/get in shape.

Not sure what 90 lb bands are equal to, but bands are a great exercise to mix in with weights for building strength and are used in the powerlifting community. But not the stupid bands you linked, I'm talking real bands (the long big ones used in PT). I'm looking to get some once my rack arrives.
