Bang for buck Mattresses $500-1000 (Queen / Plush)?

Looking for just a mattress as I have a foundation that is fine. My last mattress set was like $1500 and I don't really want to spend that kind of money on another one and would rather just replace it more often.

I was reading and it seems $500-1000 is the sweet spot.

Looking for a Queen and plush/soft. I like pillow-tops, but that's really just a gimmick. I know I want an interspring mattress.

Sam's (I hate that place) had a decent Sealy (Glenrose?) for $499. I will be looking at the local mattress shops soon, but heard many times the same mattress but with a different name/label can be sourced online much cheaper.

Have you considered a regular non baffled waterbed? You can get the mattress for <$100 and same goes for the frame if you get used like I did. It keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

I have some crazy ass expensive spring air mattress in my bedroom back at my parents house and this thing I bought off amazon blows it out of the water. Literally the best thing I've ever slept on and stupidly cheap.

http://www.amazon.com/Sleep-Innovati...+foam+mattress

It was so good that I bought another one of the exact same thing when I moved from FL back to CA into my new place.

I definitely want an interspring. I have tried waterbeds and even the new foam mattresses and don't care for them.

Only advice I can give is to get something which is not a pillowtop.

Pillowtops just add on a thick ~4 inch layer of cheap polyurethane foam which is going to sag in a couple of years.

I like latex myself, but you have to beware here too. Many are advertised as latex, but its only a ~3-4 inch latex core surrounded by cheap polyurethane foam once again (non pillowtop)

Best information www.sleeplikethedead.com

Two years into a Sleep Innovations from Amazon, from a full motion waterbed previous decades, like it a lot.

That site is awesome especially with the sex ratings (and sort of why I like an innerspring and don't really need to worry about anyone hearing )

Also thanks for the US-Mattress.com link, HumbiePie. I was on that site a while ago from another recommendation and couldn't find it.

Welcome.

Just beaware, that all the mattresses from the manufacturers are the same across all the stores, despite the "names" applied. So the basic Simmons Beauty Rest from US-Mattress is going to be the exact same thing as sold at Say Mattress Firm, or Factory Mattress. The difference is the "name" applied. So the US-Mattress Base line is the Adda, which isn't sold in any other store. They do that so they don't actually have to price match. It's pure marketing bullshit, this way every store can claim they have they have the best prices on the mattresses they sale.

Tend to find US-Mattress has the cheaper price if you are willing to wait for delivery. Margins on mattresses are through the roof though. Which is why most new successful chains stores that are start-ups are mattress stores for a reason.

I prefer spring mattresses but only for the sexual component, I would consider a foam mattress if I knew I was going to be single and celibate for a while or if I was too old to fuck.

Totally agree, but they change so many things it's so hard to know if you are getting the same thing.

Most of the threads I have started are like that.

Too many think my legit questions are somehow a brag attempt or trolling.

Another thing that has caused me great inconvenience in the past. LIFTING HANDLES!!! Some of the beds I have purchased did not have them, making it a pain to move the mattress or pick it up just to get the fitted cover on.

Something small like that has greatly changed my satisfaction with the mattress in the past. Something you may want to look for.

Give Costco as try, they have a variety of Sealy mattresses and include shipping/delivery. The warranty is top notch as well.

I managed to get a custom made one for about a thousand dollars, nothing fancy but it's long enough and the comfort zones fit me perfectly. I have broad shoulders, weigh about 200 lbs (I'm very tall) and always sleep on my side, meaning I have to get something that is very hard everywhere except for the shoulders so they can sink into the mattress a bit and keep my spine level. It's locally produced here in Denmark for a chain of highend bed stores as a cheaper alternative to the more expensive manufacturers, I'm sure the US is going to have something similar.
