Banned much?

Just wondering if this is a bunch of delinquents posting here.

Have you been banned?

How many times?

Did you deserve it?

Did you learn from your mistakes?

I've never been banned, or vacationed even that I recall here, but other places half a dozen bans, earned about half the time, pushing the envelope for a righteous cause the other half. Learned something from some of them, caution if not wisdom.





These sorts of threads start with good intentions, but they eventually turn into a steaming pile, because there's always a few members that can't resist taking potshots at the mods.

I once got vacationed for posting a coupon code for Linspire. More accurately, I got vacationed for posting a link to a text file that happened to have a coupon code in it :^D

Seriously though, banning coupon codes is retarded, and vacationing me for explicitly following the rules, doubly so.

It was a BS reason(Loopback linking) IMO, but I assume what I did was overused at some point and became Bannable due to that. I didn't even intend for the link to happen, just copy/pasted thread title as a reply, because the title refuted the OP, but whatever.

Never did it again, but still a little annoyed it happened...due to a change in Forum software, my action would not now result in causing a Loopback.

Three one weeks. One was for participating in a quote nef pyramid, one was for suggesting someone to kill a noisy/annoying girl he was complaining about at a bank, one I can't remember but it was for an offense of severity somewhere between those two iirc. All of them were several years ago, although I get more warnings/infractions these days.

Going into other forums, I've had a few major bans (one was for participating in a forum software exploit, others usually for personal attacks/being an asshole).

Banned? From here? Never...but I have been "vacationed" a few times.

Now OTHER sites? You betcha...in fact, one site not only banned me, they completely deleted my account...but still left the ban in place. :shrug: Not only can I not log in...I can't rejoin under my old user name either.

Got the banhammer once for discussing GG when those who were on the side promoting Anita Sarkeesian or Zoe Quinn were allowed to say anything even when it broke the regular rules of the website while everyone else was given a huge blanket ban. Funny thing was that I never sided with GG but I was pointing out that all the journalists had massive ethical problems and they were causing the scandal themselves. And what is so amazing about all the shit is that the admin is a real shithole who ran from the old history Google group because he was challenged for being some ignorant hypocritical partisan who never could hold up his arguments to critical thinking. Now he went and used lots of money to purchase the most attractive website in the subject community and runs it with his own authoritarian iron fist where he and the mods ban whoever they feel like for whatever shit they want. He even is styling himself comparable in the same light as Brahman as the creator, preserver, and destroyer.

More than once for short vacations, can't recall if it was more than 3 times or not so I just voted both bottom option because the poll let me.

One time for being part of a "lisa needs braces" quote back when you could easily make a quote of a quote of a quote etc... One time for rickrolling someone, and one time for saying something along the lines of burning a bunch of sticks, except I did not use the word stick. There was an actual picture of sticks on fire or something. I forget exactly.

I can't recall any others. It was never for more than like a week though.

Almost all vacations are BS since the rules aren't posted anywhere. They'll probably vacation me for this post but whatever. The mods just make up most rules as they go along and don't apply them to everyone.



Well, we didn't vacation you specifically, but the system did give you an auto vacation for points accumulated.
