not bad-- but I wish they said what motherboard it is. If it's a name brand board with a BX chipset, I might jump on it.

Mine arrived today.

CASE: Unknown. Says BB_FPBX8000 on back. The case isn't bad but not great either. Sides don't remove, no case fan but interestingly the motherboard and connectors slide out the back for easy access as long as the internal cables reach. But you have to remove the cover so you can slide out the motherboard chassis because they share the same screws and the case overlaps the slide out portion.

POWER SUPPLY: I have been ripped. Says DE235ATX6E. Probably a 235W and not a 250W as mentioned on their site. I emailed Ability about it so we will see how they respond. Also the fan is huge on the powersupply and is directly over the CPU slot. Unfortunately, from the outside, this fan sucks and not blows.

MOTHERBOARD: EUPA IBB made in China. BX chipset, 1 AGP, 5PCI, 2ISA, supports the standard BX frequencies: 66, 75, 83, 100, 103, 112, 133. Jumperless, two USB's, two serials, 1 parallel, PS2 Mouse, PS2 Keyboard. Also supports 768 megs ram, and cpu's up to PIII 800. Even the one page manual mentions this board can be "over-clocked". We will see. Oh! and it supports unduffered ram too. Very comparable in features to my ASUS P2B. However bios updates may not exist. Manufacturer web site doesn't work www.eupacomputer.com

CDROM DRIVE: BOSS-V model BOV-44B. Anyone heard of these guys?

FLOPPY: Samsung

Only thing I'm missing to fire this puppy up is a PS2 keyboard. Hopefully I can round one up tonight to let you know if this thing works with my Celeron 300A OC to 450, Voodoo 3, PC100 128 ram and Maxtor 13 gig harddrive.

Not a bad deal if you have the spare parts lying around and if it works. I'll let you know.

Fired it up fine with my Celery 300A. However I found two more problems.

1. When I tried to overclock there is absolutely no way to adjust the voltage on this board to make OCing work. The voltage is totally automatic and there is nothing on the board or in the BIOS to make voltage changes. Maybe with a slot adapter things would be different.

2. Tried to get my Celeron 566 with FOP32 HS/fan with slot adapter in the case. Unfortunately, the fan is just too wide to fit because the powersupply is barely above the cpu slot rails. Any standard Intel heatsink would probably work just fine. Aftermarket heatsinks would most likely not fit and could potentially block all the sdram slots if they are too tall.

Anyway, luke warm deal at best now. Just too many hoops to pass through to make this worth $80. The system will be fine for my son but I wouldn't build a complete system out of this thing unless you have the parts lying around.

I have some experience with these boards and they are pretty good for the $. I'd grab a few more of the case was larger. The 2.0 bios is the best /newest there is. You'll want to use Slocket's for upping the voltage for overclocking. Eupa still makes cases that are sold under that and many other names. If someone here has a public place to post it email me.

Can someone tell me if the case on the page is the one they're getting? Jschner, nice description! It answered a lot of my questions.

Received mine and like jschner it also came with 235 watt power supply.

The response from Webuildpcs.com was basically "so what". "This is what was shipped to us, so this is what you get."

That's the story...

This board will handle just about any P3 100 or 133 bus processor. It may not display the correct speed but it will run at it. As far as the power supply I'd look at the actual specs of both of them and compare. I have a 235 watt Sparkle that runs a fully loaded Dual P3/1000 system with a GF2 card and doesn't ever get warm. The amperages are higher than most of the 250's I have here.
