Baseball execs and the commish are the ones who should be facing charges for encouraging this. Bonds is a scapegoat. However I also feel like BB should hand out lifetime bans to all known and suspected juicers, no second chances. They do not have any burden of proof issues. People might think the game had some integrity. I haven't watched a game in 3 years. The sport is ruined.

The biggest shame is, he WAS a genuinely talented player and might well have made it into the HOF without steroids.

As it was, Bonds is by many measures a huge douche, and deserves any consequences coming his way . . . although I also agree with Sphinx that the MLB hierarchy deserves a huge portion of blame for the steroid era as well.

And how important was his testimony? It was a witch hunt. Bonds was stupid to lie, and I think he and about half of the players from the 90s should get life bans, and all their records ERASED NCAA style, never happened, but he was just a piece of fluff to divert our attention from the fact that BB is doing nothing, and the government can't really do anything either. He should have never been in front of a GJ in the first place.

He's guilty, and he's a scapegoat. Others lied directly to Congress (that's us by the way). Too bad there's no law against it? No, again, they had the wrong people in the hot seat. Every owner and their lackeys who pushed this crap on players should have been on the stand. Bonds should never have been in CRIMINAL jeopardy.
