well with the last couple of threads being posted about the Military I thaught it would be nice to post some basic training stories.
Here's mine
I joined the army with the buddy system I went my buddy did not.
I joined the Military Police around 1984
It is said that the best way to get thru basic training is NOT to let the drill instructor know your name.
Don't be a trouble maker, that went out the window the first day as mentioned in another post (duffle bag suffle)
well the DI knew my name the first day.
My class was to be the last class where the DI would have to be nice to you.
well after the duffle bag suffle we were traing and I left my weapon and a DI found it???
leaving your weapon was the last thing you wanted to do (trust me) after doing I don't rember how many push ups, dying bug, running in place and other "exercise" I was offered a choice of a article 15 or extra duty ( which I already had) I took extra duty. I actually left my weapon two more times man what a pain.
I was knowned as Mister Push Up because thats all I did.
I also rember I was going down to do push ups and hit a DI's BOOT he kicked me so hard it turned me in a complete 180 and I had to polish his boots for the remainder of boot camp.
I was also the one the DI called out to fight against (just like in the movies) I got my a$$ beat but I put up a good fight.
Yes Basic Training was a B!TCH for me would I do it again NO was it worth the training YES
