also @ Dman..it may have 4+4 after all. I just saw jonny's review on the 5140gh and it has 4+4. I think that was the model before this one.
man what to do...get 2 of these or get something a little stronger, but would probably cost quite a bit more. hmmm.
Here is positive proof that it does have 20+4 and 4+4: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...erver%20Power%20Supply
screw it; Im in for 2, possibly 3 as its always good to have spares for low power systems, lol.
Um, no. Not for very long, anyway.Originally posted by: Infrnl
would one of these be strong enough to power an I7 rig @3.8-4ghz, 1 1tb hdd, 2 gtx 275's and a few fans?

I've been waiting on a good PSU deal and this fits the bill perfectly. That said, and knowing geeks, this is a unit that was OEM'd for a major PC Vendor and I doubt the 8pin connector splits apart. Thus, I'm expecting to pay the $5-6 for the converter cable too.

the jonny guru review for the silverstone branded version of this mentioned an 8 pin to 4 pin adapter. I wonder if that can be found as opposed to the one bloodthirster posted.

1. the item description (under additional information) clearly states it does NOT have 12v 4 ping power connector.
2. the picture clearly shows it is an 8pin and not a 4+4.

thanks, in for 2. can we just cut the 8pin in half to have 4pin... split?

What you could do is remove the pins from the 8 pin connector and slip them into a p4 connector.

If you get 2, shipping is only $1 more for me. So, 13.49x2+9.00s&h = 35.98. I didn't bother with live cashback because I couldn't find geeks in their stores list.

Be sure to check all the molex plugs on enhance psu's. I bought the 5140 from ewiz. Two of the 4pin molexes had the 5v and 12 v pins reversed.
It literally FRIED two hard drives, a dvd drive, and a zip drive.
Neither enhance or ewiz would do anything about it.
