Where are you getting update on IP35? My new "R0" Q8200 wouldn't boot with the BETA BIOS. No POST problem with "M1" Q8200. Anyone with the knowledge to add the correct micro-code to the BIOS?

I got mine yesterday. Haven't tried it but it was packaged in a very stupid mannner, just had some plastic shroud and was dropped in a box without being secured in any position.

Great... if yours is broken I'm going to assume mine will be also whenever it gets here.

Worst part being that I budgeted a build with this in mind, reallocating $40. If this is broken...

The 8pin EPS to 4 Pin ATX converter cable linked earlier in this thread seems to be sold out at NewEgg.

3BTech has them for $5.99 shipped which isnt too bad.
-Link Removed-

****EDIT****

Do NOT order this adapter from 3BTech. The manufacturer Link Depot incorrectly labeled their adapters. The adapter I received is to convert an ATX 4 Pin power supply for use with an EPS 8 Pin motherboard. In short its the wrong conversion despite the picture on the website being correct.

3BTech was nice and helpful but to put it simply they do not have the adapter most of us will need. The originally linked adapter is back in stock at Newegg however.

Great PS btw, thanks again OP

I should receive my two PSUs today. I already had to contact geeks.com with a problem on my order of 5.25" slim optical enclosures that I made on the same day as this. It was packed well but the enclosure labeled SATA on the box was actually an IDE enclosure.

Got my two today and they had both the 8 pin and 4 pin aux. connection. The box was HUGE, looking like it was set up to accommodate 12 PSU units, so altho my box was completely torn open on one corner, the PSUs were safe in another corner.
They should have been packed in the middle so as to prevent damage on a corner hit, but I will test each on a PSU tester I have at work before claiming victory on this deal.

it's a beta bios supposedly supports e0, might work for r0 as well.

Thanks. I used that BIOS but it will only POST with "M1" Q8200. No go with the newer "R0" chip. No problem hitting 485MHz with M1 Q8200.

that's too bad, we ip35e owners need to find someone who can modify official bios to suite the new cpus, doesn't look like abit will do it.

I am in the same boat. The Fedex tracking information sit in the "billing information received" for several days, nothing updated.

Just called geeks CS, and was told the package is in freight, and possibly will be handed to Fedex by the end of this week, then the web tracking information will start to update.

I live in suburban Chicago.

Fixes the 4 pin power connector problem if the 8 doesnt split. *

... maybe Yes , maybe No , be sure not to have everything connected

to just ONE 12V rail ...

is there a way to tell which 12v rail it goes to?

...going out on a limb here , on 2-12V rail systems , one yellow

wire is solid and the other is black stripped .

The PCIe and the P-4 plugs have both wires . The molex connectors

seem to be just the solid yellow . Not sure about SATA power connectors ...

Amen Bro! Just a little push in VTT and VNB for an easy 480MHz with 45nm quads, and 520MHz with 45nm dualies. 65nm quad will over-heat the NB and PWM heat sinks without active cooling.

Had some play time with the GA-EP45-UP3P. It's a very fine board with plenty of tweaks. At the end of the day, I could push my RAM higher by about 15MHz with the Abit board. The Giga board has higher overclocking potential with 45nm quads...say 25MHz...but to achieve this, you'll need to spend several days micro-tuning about half a dozen parameters in the BIOS. AUTO mode can be dangerous and difficult to replicate since you don't know the actual value of the setting. It's much easier to overclock 45nm dualies with IP35-E. Board will run well up to about 475MHz with default VTT, VNB, and GTLref.

The boot time is around 23 seconds for IP35-E. GA-EP45-UP3P takes 32 seconds. I think the longer boot time is associated with a pre-boot checking sequence to avoid the double POST.

The Giga board is a fantastic value for the hard-core overclocker as long as the price of admission is under $80. The Abit board can still keep up with the big boys even with the ancient P35 chipset. You don't need to be an expert overclocker to extract 95% speed out of most 45nm CPUs. The major drawback is the lack of BIOS support.

Just received mine. The packing was not the best and the box was torn on one side. Power supply seems not to be affected. I'll test it probably on the weekend.

It has only 24-pin and 8-pin connectors and they are not splitable.

Finally, there is the single Adda 80MM fan in the rear. The AD0812UB-A70GL is an 80x25mm ball bearing fan capable of moving 43.8 CFM at 3400 RPM.

Mine were delivered yesterday, and I must say that the packaging job was just fine. The outer box (20x20x10) was in perfect shape, and the PSUs were boxed inside that, with each individual box filled with foam padding. Since the outer box was significantly larger than the two inner boxes, it was filled with air pillows.

My PSUs have non-split 24pin/8pin connectors, but in looking at Enhance's site, there are different revisions of this PSU, some of which do have split connectors. Installed one in a box I have that the mobo actually has an 8pin connector and it seems to work just fine. It is actually even pretty quiet, which is a bonus.

They load these things onto a skid that is shipped out via distribution centers FYI.

That is why after a week with no updates they are finally shipping my package according to their customer service.

I know it's cheep, but this is a pretty poor shipping method in my mind.

I'm surprised geeks is still around. I have had several poorly packed items sent to me in the past 3 years, and their customer service is just fair. Most of their items are not great deals, though this power supply is a great one, if it comes to you in one piece.
