Would keep the PSU. Even though it's by no means twice as good as XFX 650W, it's still nice to have the modular cables, high efficiency and hybrid fan. It will last a very long time anyway so the extra cost will seem insignificant in the long term.

Deciding on what to do about video card still..

Not an easy decision.. could spend 310ish on 6970 and enjoy my rig at 1920x1200 while it lasts

Or spend 220ish on 6950 and enjoy, put the money saved to next card whenever that is

6970 is only ~15% faster than 6950 while at those prices it is 40% more expensive. 10% of the performance increase is from the 10% higher clock (880 vs 800), the rest from additional shaders. You will be able to overclock a 6950 to 6970 speeds, and on some 6950's you'll be able to unlock the additional shaders so you'll have a full-fledged 6970.

At those prices, definitely MSI 6950 2GB. It can be unlocked to 6970 shader count (not guaranteed). If it fails you have the integrated graphics to fall back to while you restore its original BIOS (it doesn't have a dual BIOS switch).

Exactly how common is that problem? All Z68 motherboards come with four DIMM slots. It must be a marginal issue or all those boards would be faulty.

MSI, easily. The Twin Frozr cooler is very quiet at stock and can handle a nice OC should you choose to do so.

Basically everything purchased for my build except fan controller/front usb panel, SSD, and sound card... these will be purchased on as needed basis to come

If you have issues routing cables NZXT has some really awesome sleeved extension cables at amazon. They do the job and the look good.

I am tempted to tell NCIX to FU and I'll buy the B25FWB model instead (window + black interior) and express shipping cuz I have been waiting like 3 weeks now for this case!

Apparently they are made to order, so Lian Li hand makes the case once NCIX had placed the order... hence the time length (also would have come direct from Taiwan or whatever)

Case is with me right now.... build starts tonight!
