Also, during the exchange you both had with eachother, if he threatened to do something to you or your car that would benefit your case as well.

If it were me, I would call the cops and tell them I sat there and watched him key my car from a distance, and was not surprised because he threatened me during the previous arguement. Case closed.

But don't lie, cops might ask you what time did it occur. So think twice before speaking out. I happen to be caught lying which did not exist.

Unless there are cameras I doubt much will come of it. Just file an insurance claim and get it fixed.

Oh yeah that makes sense... I should have just let him take my spot that I was waiting for and not have said a word..... This is a no question case of blatant space stealing.... I pulled up to these people as they were getting into their car... this other guy wasn't even anywhere nearby for the next 2 minutes while I patiently waited for these guys to get in and leave.

-Max

and what did you accomplish again? Is the guy going to change his ways now.

Saying to yourself "man what a fvcktard" and then getting the fvck over it would have caused you a lot less stress.

I can't believe the guy moved his car.

I honk the horn and get out and argue with the guy for like 10 minutes after much screaming and yelling, he finally decides to move his car. I go on my merry way but when I come back later on there's this nice 2 foot long key gash in the side of my car.

I got his license plate number though.... what do I do? any ideas?

My thoughts have ranged from getting a repair estimate and showing up at his door with the bill, to throwing a brick through his window(I wont do this obviously)

What do you all suggest? and how do I go about tracking down this SOB.

-Max

How did you get his license plate?

He might have memo and pen in his car ready like I do.

Yeah, I do too...but is he saying the guy's truck was still there when he returned?

Anyhow, I see that he answered it in a later post...

Well, let's look at our options here.

You could have:

1) Just found another spot, forgotten about it and life would go on as usual
2) Yell at him for 10 minutes and then get a giant gash in the side of your car.

You know he was in the wrong to take the spot, but practically thinking, it would be easier to just find another spot. There are always going to be jerks in the world, and you can't always 'stick it to them'.

Well I hope wasting 10 minutes and getting your car keyed was worth the parking space.

I love how people scold me, unaware of the fact that I really don't give a sh!t if you approved of my actions... as for the people who cheer me on I respect and like.... everyone else I just dismiss as mindless trolls.... but please by all means.... scold away... I'll just chuckle at you.

Wouldn't it had been easier just to dump in on the car? Or does the slow leaking paint leave a bigger mess???

I wanted HIM to be the one ... to find it, see it and figure it out... and I wanted the realization to come over him that it would be HIM that remove the can and ruin everything. Pouring the paint on the car would have been too easy. I wanted HIM to be the one to do it...

edit: i guess it was the time that it took for him to try to find a way to get the can off and realize that no matter what he did... he would have to get paint all over the car and HE had to do it.

I don't see anything wrong with what you did. I hate people like that myself and have no problem yelling at them as well. There's lots of things you can do to cause this guy problems, you just need to think creatively.

I'm pretty sure it'd wash right off, assuming it's latex paint and there's a large source of water nearby. Not that takes away from the act. Nor that I'd want to find out in real life.
Evil either way.

The problem is.. chances are, the incident took place on private property. This means, unless there was bodily harm, or a preponderous amount of damage, or a cop actually witnessed the event then you are SOL. In private property, different rules take place then on the public roadways. Keying a car is considered a MISDEMEANOR in most states. I'm serious. Look up the laws as I told you, but even if you WITNESS the guy doing it, and even caught it on film, all the guy has to say is that it wasn't him. Now your footage is not immicable(sp?) in court. Sorry a bit woozy to spell correctly so please forgive me.

I'd like to help you out, but if that ever happened again and you witnessed it... beat the FVCK out of them. I'm serious. Claim self defense and you'll win. I've done it before. Not a mark on my record. You just have to say you were IN the vehicle when it was damaged and that he was threatening you bodily harm as well as property damage. Bingo.. now you have free right to act in ALL 50 states to defend yourself.. if need be to the death. I don't recommend you try the death part thought.. just saying it's been done and successfully tried before. It's an unalienable law and right to self and property. BUT it has to be to self AND property.

Karma's a bitch. Actually getting out of your car to argue over a spot seems pretty pointless. But to each his own.

Wet paint that had been curing for all of 3 seconds when he finally did move the can would come right off, all he'd have to do is spray the car with a hose.

I did it at 1:00am knowing he would not use the car again until the next evening. To be honest... I dont know what the final outcome was... I sent my message. But what about the spot on the top of the roof where the open can was sitting for all those hours?

If you wish to be childish:

1. Get his address which has already been covered.

2. Use an unsecured network, go to the usps site and have his mail forwarded

3. Find his car
a. crimp the fuel lines in a few places
b. pour paint stripper on the car
c. shove a welding rod through the radiator to stop the fan or tear holes in it
d. potato in muffler
e. .......
.......

or do one of the proper things.
1 forget about it and fix it
2 go to his house tell him who you are and beat the sh!t out of him
