Generally no, the truth is the repair is most likely not going to be much more than the deductable anyhow. They know that, and it was a non-collision issue. This gets thrown in with things like getting your windshield replaced from a chip. In our case we pay $250 flat rate, the insurance company 'picks up the difference' but the truth is they have a contract with a few providers to do the service for $250.

Wait a few weeks, even better-a few months,...then do something evil to his car. But nothing the cops can really get you for.

If you need some more ideas:
-Spraypaint his winscreen.
-Spraypaint the sides with "SPACE THIEF"
-Steal/Destroy two tires from his car. Most people have one spare, but few people have two spares.
-If he leaves the windows down (even just a little bit), throw in rotten fish/eggs or a turd. But remember not to use your own turd, or the CSI guys will hunt you down.

I liked the thermite idea, but that might get the cops attention.

Oh yeah, and dont leave any fingerprints, footprints, tyretracks or forensics in general. Unless they're obvious, the cops wont bother for something like punctured tyres.

Write " don't key another car a$$hole" on his car with acetone. It does wonders on paint jobs , and he'll know why he got bit.
I hate people like that..and some who have posted similar. If you have a problem with someone, deal with them. Don't trash their property!
BTW...if you are going to retaliate , I would find out if there is camera coverage of the garage first , and not file charges with the cops. If you file charges and then something happens to his car after you lose , you will pretty much implicate yourself for at the very least a small claims suit if not formal charges.

Acetone would likely evaporate before damaging the paint
