Hmmm, looks similar to the multiplayer in splinter cell that got relatively popular in #3. I remember some people really liked it so it might just work. I don't really have high hopes though, as it just seems inherently unbalanced.

Boy, I really need to go back and finish Arkham City. I got so bogged down with side quests that I lost track of the main story and got bored.

KT

I'm on the same boat. Will probably finish City by the time Origins GOTY is $7.50.

I am too. I hope Warner Games patches GFWL out of Batman Arkham City as well, and even Gears of War. I have Gears of War on PC and I've been wanting to play it but I figured I'd run into GFWL issues..

The UE3 lends itself quite well to the animated style of the Arkham series I think. It may not be photo realistic, or even close to it, but it suits the game nonetheless.

I just hope they optimize DX11 more this time, and add more PhysX effects.

Ya I always thought they nailed the art direction with this series, which to me makes the graphics (whether they are photo-realistic or not) pretty great.

I'm so looking forward to this game. Has anyone seen any good pre-order deals?
I see NVIDIA announced they're going to bundle this with graphics cards, so I fully expect to be able to get it on eBay for $30 or less.

-Art Direction, Animation, level design, bat gadgetry the whole thing. You really get a sense of what a badass Batman is playing the Arkham games. Hopefully they keep up the quality on this installment.

I'm hoping Origins doesn't have SecuROM (or GFWL for that matter)

this, this, this. steam is plenty enough. I really want this game, but gfwl has been nothing but pain and securom makes one paranoid about upgrading. if they drop both and stick with just steamworks, then I might buy this at full price, if the reviews are good.
otherwise, well...

From a controls point of view it should not matter as they are probably tweaked a bit from Arkham Asylum or Arkham City.

From a story point of view, seeing as this takes place before the other two you should not miss much, unless they do a weird let me reflect on my earlier career type thing and this game is in a way a flashback( i doubt it) wont really know until October

GFWL is definitely dropped in favor of Steamworks, but I can't speak to SecuROM.

Luckily, the first two titles never gave me problems.

The key to GFWL games working is to download/setup/update/setup(if needed) the GFWL client BEFORE trying to play the games. Once the client is actually set up and working, you shouldn't have to worry any more.

But if you let the game install and try to set it up, it will break spectacularly.

Im hoping its a lot bigger and that the engine is improved to handle streaming better. GTA4 size would be nice.

I'm a little behind the times on this one. Are Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil onboard? If so, I'll definitely get around to playing it.

All of the previews I have seen suggest it is merely going to be more of the same, which is fine with me. I liked Asylum better simply because City got so bogged down into side quests that I never finished it. I get the feeling that a lot of people did that. Still it was a fun game just stomping (and flying) around the city, killing baddies as The Batman. Can't get better than that, can you?

Edit: Ok, scratch that. I just checked IMDB and they recast both The Batman and The Joker???? Looks like I will give this one a pass, at least until the reviews are in. And even then it will have to really move the bar. Shame.

Well that sucks.. although it does sound like him in the trailers, while the are both iconic for the roles, I have heard other good Jokers as well

I'll hold judgement until release then. But if you have something that works, why change it? I can't imagine that either one is holding them up on price. That is unless Mark is planning on the proceeds from Star Wars 7-9 (LOL).

Mark Hamill retired as the voice of the Joker. As far as I know, Kevin Conroy is doing the voice of Batman.
