Nvidia themself calls it gameworks, but dont take my word for it, have a look urself.

https://developer.nvidia.com/gameworks-action

You are wrong on many levels Russiansensation and trying to twist it all to negative light where most of those fault is NOT gameworks fault, but is no point in bickering about it tbh

Edit: Dont care about SLI or Crossfire btw, it's a broken solution to begin with being software based.

So Nvidia has taken all their past innovations and technologies under Gameworks banner and any and all games ever that has used some of them are Gameworks games. Right.

I think it just a rebrand tbh, if u take Far Cry 4, at the intro it comes up nvidia The way it's supposed to be played or something. Even if clearly it is "gameworks" So maybe discuss the tech itself, like say physx, hairworks etc.

If Nvidia did reclassify them all as Gameworks for listing purposes, it makes sense, but they should still denote which are NVAPI based and which are +NV_Found based.

Ie, the older games, the features are layered on top of finished code. The new stuff some of the features are baked right into the code. Completely different.

Ofcource NV classify it all as the same - even though its opposite. Its classic marketing strategy to cloud the picture.

We have historically had features from all graphics vendors on top of existing code - back the last 20 years as i remember. It have been for nothing imo all years. No benefit worth talking about, and as i can see it doent help promote good tech.

The new is its more firmly entrenched in the code making it far more difficult to avoid this marketing crap, so instead of just beeing a waste of ressources its now killing pc gaming imo.

Its nothing but marketing. Stop supporting this crap guys. In the broader picture it is killing PC gaming because it makes gaming on pc less attractive and people shift to consoles, tablets whatever. We need tech that really makes the pc attractive.

Dice have been forerunners the last years, ID Software before them - and i hope as RS SW battlefront is going to deliver, because the last 2 years have been very disapointing.

There is that opinion again, considering most publishers are reporting giant gains in digital distro and PC Gaming revenues grow year after year.

Only thing it seems to be killing is AMD's marketshare.

Successful marketing. And, no. And there is that opinion again. The PC Gaming market grows, Console market shrinks, Mobile market independent of the two (ie the casual crowd that is the bread and butter of the mobile market doesn't normally dip into the more hardcore crowd which is the console/PC market).

How do people form these opinions? Do people still think hardware sales == Software sales? You can stay on a 4-5 year old GPU and still buy new PC games, which a lot of people do (I got more friends with GTX 600/HD 7000 cards than I do with modern cards, but they don't stop buying new games. They must have not got the memo :/).

Dice have been forerunners the last years, ID Software before them - and i hope as RS SW battlefront is going to deliver, because the last 2 years have been very disapointing.

Thankfully we share different opinions.

You are totally confused about what GW is. <snip>

Ha!!!!

dude, you havent even played any of these games. Yet you go on and on like you are the highest authority. Come in this thread calling other people confused? What?

Why are so many AMD fighters trashing in Nvidia threads? Spreading non stop FUD and constant propaganda? Radical statements such as "killing PC gaming", trying to force fit the same old and tired claims into thread after thread, over and over.

The OP is talking about a problematic game that the developer already stood up and took ownership for. Yet here we go again, AMD forum knights think its another opportunity to trash and burn.

I wonder what good can come from a person that has neither Batman AK nor nvidia card in this thread. Obviously, the pattern is clear and intent obvious.

I think it is really tiring to see you non stop bashing game after game and personally play none of them. You have no business in this thread spouting worthless nonsense, so can you please let others have a conversation more useful towards the OP?

All the games to give away they give me this bug ridden mess of a console port to celebrate my purchase of a £600 GPU?

Thanks Nvidia. Smart move.

The patch is supposed to be coming in August.

I have been playing it with my kids and we have been having a lot of fun. There are a lot of issues for many people right now, it launched in a messy state that should have never happened. But, you still own the game and it isnt to hard to have it playing decent enough to enjoy it. It is way more fun than any of the last batman games, at least for us.

Luckily, there are many things that can be tweaked. We shouldnt have to do this but the results are undeniable. Right now i have a very rare and minimal micro stutter from time to time. It is not consistent and not distracting, I am just being straight up about it. The game is accelerating and the bat-mobile really makes you feel a rush. Its extremely fast and brutal. And the micro stutter i get from time to time is when i am blazing the streets up, running a total destructive demolition rampage. The stutter isnt steady and is quite rare. It doesnt take my smile away, its still really really fun for us.

I done my tweaks by hand. Idk if it is my Hex core but i was able to get my performance well enough with very minor tweaking. I have the framelimiter at 45 though, it is messy right now when you completely unlock it. It is fine for me but that I also have gsync so that may contribute. See, i am playing this game at max settings too.

I have a friend that doesnt have gsync or a Hex core and he used this tool someone made that is supposed to be great. I havent used it yet because my performance is pretty good, so i think i will play like i have it till the patch changes everything.

Anyway, check out this tool and most likely you can have the game playing well enough pretty quickly. It isnt right that we have to tweak the game, but if you really want to play it, it is an effective option.

....so its a bug ridden mess from what a read your words. Not possible to setup for ordinary gamer. Caps and what not.

I have bought and will buy more nv gfx hardware than most and at present have several running in the house. But i have amd gfx also - but not to the same degree. What about you?

Why are you so angry? As you describe the game yourself its buggy as hell.
I have not for 20 years valuated funky hair whatever the brand or overtessalated dragons or hidden underworlds. It doesnt impress me.

Some like hair better. As long as it doesnt hurt the experience for others its fine.

But this does. It would have been a less buggy and faster game without. A better game.

if you have bought your gpu recently(assuming after B:ak was taken off steam) then contact your retailers to get a code for MGS V. I bought 980ti from B&H on 15th, emailed them yesterday that game is not available on steam and they sent me a code for MGS V.
and guess what both the codes are redeemable at nvidia's site. Cant say that the code generated from redeem.nvidia.com will work on steam or not.
**Not applicable for recent amd card purchases **

Glad to know that.

Yeah I am personally super glad you posted that info too! He didn't care 1% about MGS V so he gave the code to me instead in trade for a Sonic Allstars Racing code!

When it looked like I was going to have to finally pay a full price for a Steam game (I had to have MGS V day one) you come along and make it free (well outside of a code I was going to give him anyway). You are my hero. My streak of discounted gaming continues!

He got his card from the Egg FYI whoever reads this next. A chat person helped him.

I don't think it will work for me. I got my Batman: Arkham Knight redemption code via e-mail on 6/23 and they suspended sales on 6/24. I could always try, but apart from helping a neighbor with some button mashing scene from a prior MGS game (I don't even know which one... there was an electrocution device), I've never played a MGS game. D:

Although, you didn't exactly make the worst trade ever. Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed is a great game!

He said they really didn't put up a fight. I would at least try! He mentioned the game was pulled and had no value and they sent him that code ASAP.

Yeah, according to Steam stats the only game I have spent more time on is Stick of Truth (though I am getting close with Dragonball Xenoverse). I love Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed's style and characters (playable Wreck It Ralph!), and last Steam sale I bought an extra key to give to him so we could race each other. Funny thing is I bought so much during the Steam sale that got lost in the mix so I have it around today as a carrot to pry away MGS V.

Sept. 1 can't come soon enough!!!

I realize I'm probably in the minority here but my experience with the game hasn't been that bad. With the 980 Ti, I still got over 60 FPS maxed @ 1440p (finished the game, not all that into the "push x, counter y" arkham games anymore). The fact that the textures would not load in certain locations kinda sucked but it didn't really bother me all that much. After the first patch came out, any crashing ceased.

Anyone else experience something similar? Not excusing the game but some PC games in recent memory seemed to be worse/unplayable at launch?

Poor Batman He's gonna have to wait for the promised August patch. Possibly then Steam will re-release it for purchase. Not sure if the Batman code is still even active.
