Just started the movie. Only 6 minutes in and I'll already really annoyed by the product placement. Bruce Wayne would not drive a Jeep Renegade, and every single vehicle in this city seems to be a FCA. I thought I saw something different, then realized it was a Fiat. I think I briefly saw the grill of a Lincoln, but it was very fast and I only noticed it because I was looking quite hard for any evidence of something else.

I know this isn't a new thing, but it's usually not this obvious.

Yeah I laughed, even though I own a Jeep Renegade. He should have had a Cherokee with the cool LED light strips (like a black Trailhawk edition to go over the rubble) because that looks more like what Bruce Wayne would drive, like a 4x4 Batmobile-esqe car. And all of the bad guys drove Dodges. FCA products for everyone!

On the flip side, I don't mind product placement if it's well-done, like in Wayne's World where they make it a funny point or in the Snapple scene in 30 Rock (plumegranate!). But movies are getting so expensive that they need the money to do large-scale stuff so they use billboards in movies, vehicles, and other forms of product placement. Blockbuster movies are averaging $200 million each these days. Crazy!

I thought the Jeep was just a car that was at the heliport. It was a last second trip and maybe they didnt have time to have his regular ride ready. The Renegade is probably standard issue for his security or something. The security for our company drives Jeeps.

He grabbed a security vehicle. Didn't exactly have a choice.

rent? no.
own for $5? yes.

I know we're all hundred millionaires on ATOT, yet we're all amazingly cheap. IT'S NOT THAT BAD OF A MOVIE!

I swear if some people don't experience an orgasm in the theater, it's not worth seeing to them.

They could have made it lucky coincidence he grabs James bond's Aston Martin.

$5 for just a rental is still pretty high, regardless of movie IMO. With Redbox being $1.50 I would certainly question spending $5 on a rental, even not being much money.

I wouldn't pay $5 to rent any single movie. Last time I paid that absurd amount was before Netflix started.

Well it would certainly be better if there wasn't that annoying tackle arrest at the end.

Meh. What is your time worth? What about gas and wear and tear on the vehicle (assuming you aren't walking to the Redbox location, which I assume the vast amount of AT&Ter's aren't doing).

imo, $4.99 for HD+ without having to start your car and leave the house, not to mention returning the disc, is a bargain.

But ATOTers have really never been ones to consider all of the economic factors.

I agree with you in part. Then again I usually just redbox when I'm at the grocery store. I drive by it each day and only make the trip when going there anyway.

Does anyone know how to watch the Ultimate edition without a 4k Blu-ray player? I purchased the 4k version and did not know that I needed a 4k player to watch it. According to the box, the 30 minute extra content is only available on the 4k disk.

I'd never get in my car and go somewhere JUST to get a movie from redbox. They're everywhere, it's quite likely you could be driving by one on the way to/from work or to/from the store. I think every grocery store by me has one anyway, so if I'm shopping already it takes zero extra time.

I guess if you're a hermit and aren't out and about much it could be less convenient, but I'm pretty indoorsy and still drive by them regularly.

The Ultimate edition is available only on a 4K and Blu-ray disc, not DVD (not sure why). Of course you'll need a 4K player for the 4K disk, attached to a UHDTV.

You can get the ultimate edition, which is the extra content, in all of the formats except 3D (they didn't pay extra to convert the additional footage).

The 4k addition only has the extra 30minutes of footage on the 4k disk. The 1080p disc only contains the one shown in theaters. You have to buy the Blu-ray ultimate edition in order to get the one with extra footage. I purchased the 4k thinking that both the 4k disk and the 1080p disc had the extra content. I was wrong.

So the ultimate edition blu-ray and dvd has the ultimate edition on both? Or is the ultimate edition only on the blu-ray? I only ask because it seemed like most of the info made it sound like it was only on the blu-ray copy and not the dvd. I would think if it's a combo pack that it should have the extra content on both dvd and blu-ray and not ultimate on blu-ray and theatrical on dvd. Do you mind checking on that sometime, just to be sure? It's not the end of the world if it's not both but since you have it....I was just trying to get some clarification. If you don't want to check on it, that's cool too. Thanks!

After re-watching, I am liking the movie more and more. Definitely more re-watchable than any marvel movie.

I'm actually outdoors quite often. But I'm a walker/runner/biker. I don't watch movies very often either so it's not like I plan on picking one up when I'm heading out. It's usually a last-minute, spur of the moment decision, like it was last night. We watched Batman V Superman via Vudu because my brother-in-law is in town and staying with us for a few days.

We talked about the movie today and neither of us could remember how it ended. BvS took itself way too seriously. That seems to be a problem with many DC movies in general. They should learn from Marvel and inject some comic relief.
