Battery life on Galaxy Note 3

Hi everyone,

I just bought a new Galaxy Note 3. Battery life is amazing but I have a few questions:

1) Is it true that I need to deplete the battery to 0% then charge it up to 100% on the first day of purchase? Why is this the case?

2) And is it true that after #1, it's preferable to charge my phone more frequently, rather than depleting it near 0%?

I noticed that after the first full charge (which I let go much longer than just to 100%), the battery life was much better than just letting it get to 100% and then taking it off. I'm not sure about depleting the battery to 0%, though.

As webdave's link describes, my understanding on those 'healthy battery practices' was that those practices are largely to counter degradation over time. Since you can get a brand new battery for the Note 3 for fairly low prices I'd say forget the battery longevity and abuse the phone as much as you can.

Oh ok... yea... my Galaxy S2 had no problem, and still gives me pretty good battery. I should expect almost the same (now that Canada adopted the 2 year cellphone contracts, not 3 years anymore!!)

use it like you normally do and don't worry about charging it too much or too often. replacement batteries are like $15 a piece...Anker makes great batteries but I don't think the Note3 version is out just yet.
