LOL, that was my reaction too. The T-55 is early 1960's era Russian "technology". It was a very capable tank by Korean War or Vietnam standards, but it's light years behind a modern tank. A single M1A1 should be able to destroy 15 T-55's before they get in range to squeeze off a single shot in return.

I realize that (being a fomer service member) and if it came across the wrong way I apologize...I was simply using an analogy demonstrating how obsolete the old Soviet-era tanks are against modern armor.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound harsh.. I'm just all for making this war as un-sporting as possible so that everyone can come home that much sooner, after a successful conclusion. And if that means ridding the world of excess '60s Soviet-era military hardware, well then so be it.

Come on Red, instead of sending the Marines, we should have send a few hippies in there to give Saddam a hug and tell him he isnt a "bad" man, and no one has "the right to judge him". I'm sure that would make him stop trying to kill the Kurds (and everyone that opposes/questions him) and start loving his fellow man!

Couldn't you see the parallel he was raising? I did. He did a comparison.

I cannot believe that you'd say something so obvious like that.

If one were to say that a F-15 vs. a Mig-21 would be like a hawk vs. a pigeon, I'm sure that you could point out that jet aircraft are not birds. But that wasn't the point of the comparison.
