Totally useless. Probably a response to the fact that EA used GTX 1080s at their EA Play event a few weeks ago.

Posting a video at an existing thread showing the card actually running the game (with settings and FPS counter) in an EA event is totally different from creating a new thread with little to no info because a Radeon was used in an AMD sponsored event.

There was no existing thread to post in? I am trying to find out more details, since its a public event maybe some here has gone or knows of a site with more details.

From what I heard...

nvidia has been trying to get to EA by giving them bunches of 1080 cards, amongst other things. That is where the sighting of the 1080 was seen with Battlefield 1. nvidia trying to sneak in some marketing material.

This was done knowing full well AMD had a promotional agreement with EA for Battlefield 1. So basically nvidia did the same thing they did with DOOM, by wanting to *appear* like they are associated with the game, when in fact they are not.

In the case of DOOM, Bethesda did not have a marketing agreement with either IHV. So not much came of it except to create hype for nvidia's card launch, only to later be completely crushed when the Vulkan version came out and AMD's performance went through the roof.

This time EA & AMD do have a marketing agreement for Battlefield 1, so I'd wager things were fixed in short order.

It's a DICE game, it will run well on everything, unless NV sneaks GameWorks into it which I don't think is happening for BF1.

Just look at previous DICE titles, even if AMD sponsors them, they run great on all GPUs, even Kepler puts up a good show. These guys know how to optimize their games.

But Battlefront shows they sometimes do not know how to make a good game.

They were just forced to release it at the same time as Episode VII, as well as dumb it down for all the kids who will play it. Hence the lack of content and depth.

That's the difference between gaming evolved & gameworks titles. Former will work on any hardware with certain support, latter mostly will work well on Nvidia hardware alone.

BTW, is it really that surprising? With Vulkan, FuryX is indeed showing promising results in Doom. Chances are, Battlefield 1 works quite well on FuryX.
