The minimum cpu requirement is a bit steep

Minimum Requirements

OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10
Processor (AMD): AMD FX-6350
Processor (Intel): Core i5 6600K
Memory: 8GB RAM
Graphics card (AMD): AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB
Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB
DirectX: 11.0 Compatible video card or equivalent
Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection
Hard-drive space: 40GB

The beta played fine on a stock clocked 2500k with a gtx 960.

Yeah this has to be a mistake, even my Q9650 played it respectably. Not great but no that bad either.

How on Earth are an AMD 6350 and an Intel 6600 the same?

Battlefield has always been pretty CPU heavy, at least in 64 player maps. But yah a 6600k sounds high as a min. Might have meant a 2500k.

Depends what you want!

If you are a big fan and know you will play for at least a year +, get ultimate, you'll save on the xpacs. You get all the other benefits (weapon packs, early access, etc..)

If you enjoy it and you like the early access stuff, get the early enlister, you will play before most people.

If you like the game but don't plan to buy the DLCs and are not too rushed to get it, just buy normal version.

Also note that being an EA Access member gives you an extra 10% discount + you get to play on the 16th of october.

Personally I will get EA Access in 2 weeks to get early version and the discount.

I thought EA Access was an Xbox thing? Does it apply to the PC version?

For those who didn't get the BF4 DLC's, EA just announced that all the BF4 DLC packs are now free for everyone.

Free for Everyone - well except the PC Master Race - FU EA

I take that back - it is free

It feels like they made the decision on WW1 in spite of what is best used for the battlefront engine and not for creative ingenuity. Though that perception aside, it looks and plays fine. The main criticism is the UI is complete trash. It seems like they have to change the UI every time to make it seem like you are playing a different game.

What's wrong with the UI? I thought it was straight forward enough and didn't negatively impact my experience with the game.

I think they went more with creativity than usual. They could have went the easy way and drop BF:BC3 and it would have been sold out. DICE chose to push another Core BF game.

UI wise I think it is one of their best yet. Lightweight and efficient. Keep in mind that we barely touched the beta. It was a 1 or two month old build. UI will most likely be tweeked more before release!

I like the UI too. Much better than having to use a browser and plugin to find servers like in Battlefield 3 and 4 on the pc.

The UI was okay but I hope that its all integrated with Battlelog in the final release. Not having the ability to launch a game from the stats and loadout page was annoying to me in the beta.

Yeah having to use a frickin webpage to launch games is retarded. BF1's click once and join, and the inclusion of an in-game server browser, is WAY better. I don't see why the UI is "trash" because it's slick looking (and works well), but to each his own I guess.

May have been mentioned before but looks like the single player version has a number of maps that are like mini open worlds. Which is fine with me. I don't always require a big open world like in Witcher 3 or GTA 5 for my SP time. I'm also good with smaller areas to roam like in Deus Ex MD. But I'm sure BF 1 will have bigger SP maps than Deus Ex MD right?

I'll get the version that includes all future expansions (Ultimate). Funny, bit expensive here in Japan at 150$.
Joining origin access would save me $15. If I immediately cancel afterwards, does that deduction still remain?

Beta ran great on i5 2500k and gtx 770 4 GB on all settings maximum at 1920x1200 resolution. Hoping the final version runs even better with DX12 enabled!

I don't think battlefield's single player was so good in the previous games. Pretty average at best so I'm not expecting much more from this one.

BF hardline's single player kept me interested for about an hour. Longer than any other I've played.

I think one of the bad company games had an ok single player mode but I didn't check it out.
