So you're saying the Deluxe edition basically has nothing worthwhile over the standard edition? The battlepacks only provide skins that effectively don't change the actual effectiveness of the weapons?

Yeah, it is all cosmetic stuff. If you don't care about that get the regular edition (unless you REALLY cannot wait, then you need to get the deluxe for early access).

Basically the only reason I didn't get the deluxe. If you want the dlc the full complete version is the ultimate but I could not see myself paying for that knowing how long I play these games.

I have a BAR M1918 Telescopic that I got from a battle pack that I now have in my inventory but don't see it as an option to load out?

From what I've come to learn, you have to level up the specific class (i.e. Assault/Medic/Support/etc.) enough in order to buy the BAR M1918 Telescopic before you can use the one obtained in your battlepack. I started playing with the early enlister edition and have several hours into the game. It does take quite awhile to level up classes.

So what's the deal with this game? I have played/followed all previous BF threads and seems like there was much more hype for BF3 and BF4 and activity in the threads than for this game...

I was so turned off by BF4 that I'm going to wait a few weeks or a month before picking up BF1. Let them fix the usual bugs (I'll be following this thread for reports) and pick it up after a patch or two. BF4 was such a mess for so long that maybe others are taking the wait and see approach?

I am also curious as to feedback from the leveling up system. I believe it's a bit different in BF1? I hate having to kill X amount of people with a weapon before you unlock a red dot or holo. I believe this is you accumulate points/cash and buy what you want? That should be much better, IMO.

Thanks (and to others) for the explanation. Really aggravating that it's different and not very well explained. Common sense would be if I opened it in a battle pack I could use it, like the last BF was. Oh well, still enjoying the game. It would be even better if I didn't have to rank up my PC and my PS4 version separately too. Linking accounts would be great.

From what I've been playing I enjoy it a ton more than bf4. Yes you do get war bonds where you purchase new equipment. You also have to unlock the weapons by getting a certain amount of kills. But the gameplay is a lot more fun.

It is not kills that lets you buy class weapons. It is class based points gained. You can rank up really quickly by PTO'ing and doing class based actions. Killing will get you there but definitely slower. BF1 really rewards playing the objective than previous games.

I am already class rank 11 for support by just dropping ammo packs and crates all around high traffic locations.

Again, battlepacks are just for skins in BF1. The only weapons gained from battlepacks so fare are from super rare puzzle pieces that you need to collect to make the Club and Knife.

Been playing for a week now and so far I have gotten stuck on a loadout screen once, and had the game crash on me once yesterday. Other than that Ive not noticed any bugs, definitely a much smoother release than either BF3 or 4. I think they've got a pretty good handle on the Frostbite engine now.

Support rank 11, WOW! I think Ive only gotten each class up to 3 or 4, my medic may only be 2, you know how I hate the DMRs. LOL

Over all rank is 24 I think.

Well I'll be damned. LevelcapGaming says the single player is only 4 hours long!?. I definitely didn't buy it for the single player so I don't mind that much, but dude, wtf man!? That's kinda crappy. I didn't watch that whole video cause I didn't want to see spoilers but he said the first mission was decent length but the other three were only a little over a half hour long.

I'll still definitely check out the single player but I'm glad I didn't buy it with the intention of mainly playing that (IMO kinda dumb though, it's Battlefield).

Oh that sucks. The reason I got it was because I've always liked the bf online compared to other games. But mostly I was interested in what type of single player it had after I watched some videos. It looked different and interesting and figured it would tell a decent story. But that sucks to hear.

I have 3-4 hrs left on the trial and the game is already fully downloaded. I'll probably start playing at 9pm tonite since I'm off tomorrow.

I ended up buying because a guy I play War Thunder said he wanted to play it too, so we'll play it together. hopefully that makes it more fun.

Just bought it off of gmg, won't activate till tomorrow night I thought it was released on the 18th?

Is one class better than the other?
Pre-orders of deluxe and ultimate directly from Origin were the only ones with the early release date, the rest unlock on the 21st.

Each class has its own strengths and weaknesses, depends on the situation you find yourself in.

Assault is good close range, the trench gun is jumpy. I like support due to the mortors. But either one is decent close range. Scout is nice too if you can find a good spot to snipe and take your time to aim.

I've found the automatic guns to be a bit weak needing multiple shots to take someone down. But I've also played hardcore mode before where this wasn't the case.

But yea spraying a whole clip and getting a bunch of hit points yet they don't die us annoying.

On my origin says unlocks tonite at 12am.

Blah! I played the open beta and the last few iterations of the game, but there is no way in hell that I can justify dropping $130 for the Ultimate Edition. Seeing that they typically don't drop the price until the user base drops, it looks like I won't be buying this version. Oh well, back to CS:GO for now.

I was just in a game earlier and saw about 10 to 15 people get banned for hacking. It was hilarious.

That actually sounds kind of awesome in that it sounds a lot like the old Medal of Honor gameplay.

As far as I've noticed bf online has always been this way. Sometimes the hit detection was a miss.

I agree the flamethrower is very cool.
