Obviously I don't know the details, but this sounds like an overclocking/overheating problem to me, not a memory issue. You should check the hw forums or the bf1942 forums for hw issues. On the other hand, if the sound switch fixed it, why do anything?

Negative. I had a really long and detailed description of the problem but it was laden with profanity and since Anandtech decided, in its politically correct infinite wisdom, that rather than allowing me to edit my post, it would erase it entirely. So, you get the paraphrased version: the memory leak I was experiencing was being caused by my sound settings, there is no overclocking or overheating problems in my system because nothing is overclocked and all fans are working properly (I check on a regular basis). If you are experiencing horrible choppiness/lag with this game, I suggest setting your quality to 22khz. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle...

Here's a great idea - how about next time YOU, in YOUR "infinite wisdom", show a little restraint on the language that you already KNOW is not allowed?

Never heard of a memory leak. Must be ignorant. Inadequate. Inadequate. Must self-destruct.

I wrote that post at work, so a bit of the work spite rubbed off in it. I mean no offense to greendonuts, just trying to inform anyone who might has serious problems with this game as I did. As far as the profanity business goes, I was aware a certain four letter word was not allowed, but not the words I had posted. I was under the impression there was a bit more lee-way. Who wouldn't be disappointed after writing something to be told to edit it and have it totally gone?
