If you haven't played this game yet, you are missing out. If you have played it, then I have probably shot your plane down at least once already

Road to Roam will only patch you up to version 2.5. You'll need to download the patch anyways, so might as well get it now. The nVIDIA file server is nice, fast, and you don't have to create an account.

I've bought the cards, put $5 on it and then turned around and used the card + coupon for my game purchase. -$5 on any game cooL deal if you ask me, especially on old but good ~$20 games!

I don't know if those stores will have RtR when they open, but they should definitely have them when their delivery truck arrives that day. My guess is that it's faster and cheaper to buy it locally for the retail price of $19.99...save yourself the shipping charge.


EDIT: I meant to ask earlier. Can someone give me a brief explanation of these gamer's gift cards? I've never heard of them.

they're located in the console video game aisles
they come in these cd cases which store the gift cards
on the back of the cd case theres a $5 off coupon

Try the mod Desert Combat for modern military equipment. Just go to www.desertcombat.com. Issues have just cropped up with the 1.3 patch, but when they get the mod up to date, you'll see how incredibly good it is. It really makes Battlefield great.

Yeah, I've seen Desert Combat - but it'd be PERFECT to set up a 1985 map with the Fulda Gap in Germany or recreate the MOHAA Normandy Objective map...the resources are definitely there. Too bad I'd have to make England only about 2 miles effectively away from the Normandy coast so there would be land-based support aircraft, and possibly design a C-47 so people don't have to parachute from the wings of B-17s anymore.

Also Desert Combat is a little unrealistic. Iraq doesn't have Tu-160 Blackjacks. Russia couldn't get away with selling them intercontinentally-ranged bombers, even in the Cold War - hell, they got in hot water for selling them a few butt-ugly poorly-performing 60s-era Tu-22 Blinders in the early 70s with the Israelis - even though by then the IAF had gotten it's sh*t together after the Six Day War and Jordan and Syria would've never allowed Saddam overflight permission.

"Yeah, I want to send my bomber fleet over your countries to strike Israel." "Umm...let us think - do we want your gratefulness, or Israeli A-4s and F-4s bombing us with chemical and nuclear weapons?" "We choose option B - no f*ckin' way, Saddam."

Other than that, DC pretty accurate...except most of Iraq's MiG-25s and 29s belong to the Iranians now, courtesy of pilots seeking asylum during the '91 war, and most of Iraq's T-72s and few T-80 first-gens are now scrap metal sinking into the sand...oh yeah, Saddam's a real threat.

Tried that with a freind last week and they wouldn't give free shipping on a pre-order. I will go the Gamers gift card route and get it for $14.99 in hand...

I get a lot of stuff from the alt.binaries stores but IMO, this game really deserves our support.
