1) Go to best buy and find the "Gamer" gift card. Buy it and put like $10 on the gift card. It comes in a GREEN CD case and also has a coupon for $5 off any game $19.99 or higher, in store purchases.
2) Go get BF1942: SWWWII - It's on sale for $19.99. Use the $5 coupon to bring the total to $14.99 + tax.
3) Use your gift card plus some cash to pay.

Enjoy.

UPDATE: I hear that this sale is ONE WEEK ONLY. The price then goes back up to the regular $29.99, hurry up! hehe..

Im still pissed off at best buy when i tried to do this for road to rome. I was denied using the coupon because road to rome rang up as "software" and not as a game. I had road to rome in my hand and the manager said it wasnt a "game"
Patently ridiculous. I think ive maybe been into best buy once since then.

I can confirm that they do work with sales.

BTW The new "Gamers Gift Cards" are black and the coupon is good until 12/31/04-sweeet!!! And you can put any amount on the cards.

The old green cards are good until 12/31/03 and are good for purchases right now.

I thought the Gamer's Gift Card was good for console games/peripherals only. I tried using the $5 coupon that was in the Gamer's Card CD case on a PC game a while back and was shot down. I argued that it was a Game, they concluded that it was software.

Get the new edition of the gamer gift card in black and yellow jewel case, the coupon inside says $5 off any $19.99 or more video game, software and accessories purchase.

They have a gift card shelf at our local BestBuy, the old (green) Gamers cards are on the shelf side by side with the new cards.

Beware, best buy hate post below:

The fullerton CA best buy can suck my nads. I am never going there again. That place is always a NO store. All they had were the damn green gamer cards (a ton all over the place). Ive been rejected before, but i figured id try again, act real nice and innocent and see what happens. I got the this is "software" and not a video game beef when the computer wouldnt take it. I tried to be nice with the supervisor, and still got shot down. I just left the opened gift card and the "software" at the register and walked out. Checker had the charged up card in her hand still(she charged it up before ringing me up, so i hadnt paid anything yet).

I MIGHT consider getting this at another best buy if someone knows if the one in yorba linda, or cerritos, or lakewood has the good gift cards. Even then, its a maybe, i really dislike best buy.

You probably paid $5 in gas getting there, should have just bought it instead.

Just purchased it from my local best buy for $19.99. All the gift cards they had were the old ones so I didnt even chance it. I aint gonna fight for $5.

I live about a mile from there and I know what you mean. I had the same problem before.

Worked no problem for me at the Tampa BestBuy using the green card.. $16.04 out the door.. coupon would'nt work so they keyed it manually...

You guys that are having trouble might want to point to that white logo on the bottom of the front of the box, the one that says EA GAMES.
