Ok, so I have BF1942 and both of the expansions. I want to install the game but everytime in the past, I've had problems with the patches. What patch do I need and what order should I install in? E.g. First all 3, then apply patch or install the original, then patch, then the expansions?

Some guys I game with wanted to play Desert Combat Berlin CTF, a few weeks ago, so we covered this recently. I just dropped of the steps for installing Desert Combat.

I still play 1942 on a regular basis. Lots of servers still out there but not too many players (636 when I posted this). EA 117 DC Fan Favorites is popular and populated most of the time for DC. If you want to go hard core you can install the Forgotten Hope mod. The Pixel-Fighter.com server is popular on the weekends. Someone there wrote a toolbox program you can use to download most of the BF1942 mod files.

I had to set it to run as if it was under XP SP3. The first game I have had to do this for under Win7 (x64).

Ugh that sounds so simple. Just started playin MW:WaW and those idiots don't seem to have made consolidated patch files (even though there's like 7 of them) so when I started with the latest it kept saying previous not installed.

WaW is probably my favorite COD game but when I did my last upgrade I didn't installed it because of all the patches you need to download. Not sure why they don't have an updater built into the game or one big patch to download.

I don't think that there is any copy protection on BF 1942 so you should just be able to download something like MagicISO and use it to make an image of the discs. Then you can share those images over your network and copy them to your laptop.

Also, note that EvenBalance (Punkbuster) has suddenly stopped supporting BF1942 - if you find yourself getting kicked from games for Punkbuster related issues, you need to try this fix (which works for me):

I still play DC regularly and will occasionally hop into a classic game of BF1942 on a Midway or Wake map.

its only supposed to have like 3 maps right? i hope they do a proper sequel, altho i'd prolly buy 1943 just for the updated graphics.

So, I've been trying to get BF1942 working on my laptop but to no avail -- this in on a MacBook Pro with Windows 7 x64. Lastest nVidia drivers are installed, but the game shows the splah screen then goes back to desktop.

I remember this happening years ago and it was a problem with refresh rates, but I checked the settings and they are fine. BF1942_r.exe (the debugger) works perfectly fine. Any ideas about how to fix this? I have tried setting the Compatibility mode to XP, but that does nothing.

I missed this game,and the variety of mods to it!.So much so,that i ordered another and recieved it today(first one went byebye i dunno,lol) .I guess the one thing in question is,how did you run pb setup when the game is'nt on their(punkbusters) listing anymore?

I'm foggy on it too,but was'nt there a command to update in game via the server you were in or something to that effect?
