I have played the BF series since the beginning. I have never flown much, although I got pretty good with choppers in BF:Vietnam using the keyboard.
I decided to try out a joystick with BF2, so I picked up a Saitek Cyborg Evo today. It works really well with planes. If I let off the stick, it goes to center. However with choppers, I drift all over the place. Hovering is nearly impossible. With the keyboard I can hover really easily....
It seems I am constantly rocking left and right when using the joystick. There really isnt any sensitivity or deadzone settings in teh game or the joystick drivers...so I am not sure what to do. It seems if I let off the stick I should hover, or come close to a hover. But if I take off, come about 20 feet off the ground and let off the stick, I always roll back and to the right. Trying to correct for it usually ends up with me rocking wildly back and forth. I have found that the only way I can hover using the stick is to use one hand on the keyboard to make fine adjustments.
Any suggestions?
