Battlefield 3 64 Players on PC only and Jets confirmed

This is it! We are very excited to announce the first details on Battlefield 3 and to kickstart the preorders for the Limited Edition!

Battlefield 3 is the true successor to Battlefield 2. Beyond our signature multiplayer, we have also included a full single-player campaign and a co-op campaign – all straight out of the box. As for fan favorite features, how does the return of jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer (on PC) sound? Let's hope Frostbite 2 delivers better visuals than BC2. I guess this implies that the PC version is going to be quite different, as the maps will have to be different than the console versions to fit the larger player counts.

For those of you who heard it in the other thread this will sound like a broken record, but in addition to decent AA we're hoping they will force jets to land to rearm, which will slow down bomb spam a bit.

No kidding...helicopters are practically invincible in BC2 if they're far away.

Especially with the new thing where they can just pop flares to ditch the tracer tag.

I hope that they up the player count on console as well. 12 on a side is cool I guess, but with some of the new larger maps on BC2 could really use maybe 20 on a side.

I hope they dont mess with the classes. BF2's Spec Ops class was bad ass. Weapons for the other classes made more sense as well. Medic gets M16, Support gets HMG, Engineer Shotgun, etc. Add some all class weapons..decent all class weapons and it'd be sweet. Classes and their weapons in BC2 was kinda lame.

Definitely needed with this. It's nearly impossible to shoot down anything.

Jet bomb spam is really terrible, I hope they balance it out well.

Aw come on rambo medic is great fun! You're even a low range sniper with the red dot.

Which is why it was so unbalanced. Medic was too powerful.

64 players people, 64 players! 32 vs 32 on a map is going to be CRAAAZZYYY fun.

I REALLY hope they do a class limit though unlike BC2. Nothing ruins a game more than all recon.

Really the lack of prone backfired on them in BC2. All it did was make it so you had no cover from snipers because you couldn't duck behind anything. If you're even a mediocre FPS player you know that you don't have to worry about the snipers who are laying down on the edges of the maps. It's the guys that are competent at drag shots that rush with snipers that are going to give you more trouble.

I don't understand how everyone had such problems with the jets in BF2. If you knew how to take them down, they weren't that bad.

The whole taking atleast 2 rockets to take them down from the SAM's was kinda bullshit.

Good lord, how are you people so bad at dealing with jets in that game?
