Since BF3 comes out in some countries tomorrow, I would like to start a thread about PC performances.
I don't know which GPU to buy. So before the game comes out in the Netherlands, I would like to know which GPU works best in the game.

First off all: I will keep updating this thread so you don't have to keep scrolling to find the right combo.

Fill in;
CPU:
GPU:
Mobo:
Ram:

Resolution:

Average graphic settings in BF3: Low/Medium/High/Ultra

Antialiasing deferred:
Antialiasing post:
Motion blur:
Motion blur amount:
Anisotropic filter:
Ambient occlusion:

Thanks to hondaf17: Hitting F11 to record will create two excel files. One tells you the FPS for each moment. The other summarizes it in min, max, and average. So, it does the math for you.
Max fps:
Min fps:
Average:

Please take the time to fill in this form. It will help a lot of people.
I hope you can find some time to do this, because as we all know; you are going to play this game non-stop.

Thanks in advance.

please, feel free to give advice or comments.

I don't normally keep track of FPS so I'm unsure, but can FRAPS automatically track max/min/auto or will that be just a guess based on looking at it here and there?

Hitting F11 to record will create two excel files. One tells you the FPS for each moment. The other summarizes it in min, max, and average. So, it does the math for you.

Oh didn't know that! I usually just press f10 (with fraps on), makes a bunch of screenshots every 10 seconds.. add those up and devide by the number of screenshots taken, but your method is much much better, saves a lot of time haha

Thanks for that, will sure be a lot better than getting killed as I keep peering to the top left to see what it's at!

Just did a 10 minute run of 32 player Grand Bazaar:

Notes: Not one hiccup or any micro-stuttering at all...feels pretty damn smooth to me.

EDIT: Should add that I'm using the 11.10 v3 drivers.

I can't tell if I'm getting decent performance or not because the negative mouse acceleration makes my game feel like I'm getting 3 fps whenever I move my mouse.

Are you guys getting the "Sorry something technical went wrong" message? I then have to hit Home, Mulitplayer then refresh list etc.

Just tested out the game last night as was pleasantly surprised with the performance. The game just auto-detected the settings and I was able to join a 64man server (like 58 players in all or something like that at the time) and the performance was quite smooth on a 5770....dunno if the settings aren't really what is shown or something, but I was anticipating lots of stuttering etc. but I never noticed any.

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K
GPU: Gigabyte HD 5770 1GB (some Superclocked model that is factory-overclocked)
GPU Drive: Stock ATI Catalyst 11.9 (latest as of 10/21/11)
Mobo: Gigabyte Z68 mATX model (baseline model)
RAM: G.Skill 8GB (2x4GB)

Resolution: 1920x1200

Video Settings (Auto-detected):

All on High
AA Off
AF 16x
Motion Blur: On
FOV: 70
Ambient Occlusion: HBAO

Will try to get hard numbers maybe tonight but just playing it for 2hrs felt quite smooth to me. Guess my 5770 can last me for a bit longer.

I was playing last night with pretty good results. Better than I expected.

Phenom II 965BE @4GHz
Radeon HD5750 512MB (overclocked a bit)
MSI 790GX-G65
4GB DDR3
And I am using the 11.9 drivers. Th 11.10 previews give me BSOD's.

Still wanting to upgrade my GPU though

EDIT: Oh yeah, if I set Textures to high, I get really bad frame drops at times. My guess is it runs out of VRAM. Will be cruising along at 50 or so, then drop to single digits for a few moments. Seems to go away with them set to medium.

I have to say that I am very impressed with the performance of the game--is it just me or does the game seem to run faster than BC2 for anyone else?

I have an i7 950 clocked at 2.9ghz, 12gb ram, and a Radeon 6870, running at everything maxed, 2x AA, High Shadows, and everything looks great at 1080 and a steady FPS of 30-60. In BC2 I had to turn off SSAO and shadows on low to get equivalent FPS.
