So is EA making a new PC battlefield? And if they are is it going to be like Bad company with a few new perk's or a completely new game?

seems like they're using the same engine as bad company, frostbite DX, but a totally new game. but i figure they will use many of the things they developed for bad company so it's going to save them a lot of resources to come up with BF3.

oh and nothing officially on BF3 has been announced from DICE/EA. but it's a given and there's been few leaks about it being developed last year. if i had to guess the game won't be released until spring 2009 since they haven't even announced it.

Dang, because Bad Company is really fun and i could see that being on the PC more successful than BF2 was when it came out.

They "hinted" at it in a recent interview:

GS: If Heroes does take off, does that preclude the launch of a traditional Battlefield-style game for the PC for the next six years?

BC: No, there are 250 people at DICE, several teams, and there are only 15 people working on Heroes.

GS: You think the audiences would be different enough?

BC: Absolutely. We're still absolutely committed to the core Battlefield PC gamer fans, and there are 250 people at DICE. Make what you will of those two statements.

Yeah, so we know they're working on it. When it will be announced is the question. And it's a very irritating one.

BF1942 was awesome. BF2 was really good but didn't quite measure up to 42.

normally i don't agree with you pontifex, but you are 100% right on this one. BF2 was a piece of shit. i don't understand how a menu or a level takes so long to load.

Not really, its still a good game but EA fail's at every game they do with customer support and eventually give up on them even if they're doing well. I wish someone else would take up the responsibility of making the BF games or EA to actually focus on a few good games rather than 900 horribad ones. Damn sellouts

i feel sorry that you settle for mediocrity and let EA steal money from you or that they've got you scammed so hard you willingly shell out money for their garbage.

Bad company is somewhat of a testing ground, if you will, for the engine that will run BF3.

Well man, I hope there are some titles out there that you can enjoy. I never said the games were perfect but they were a ton of fun. I got my first taste of modding doing server side stuff for Desert Combat and working as a tester for DC Final. I then tested and learned a lot working with the old DCX guys on BF2. So I did have fun with the games. I didn't let anyone steal money from me and I didn't get scammed. For my $40 I paid for 42 I got a couple of years of great gaming out of it. I probably would have had close to that much out of BF2 if a trip to the desert didn't happen. In fact I recently have played some great mods for BF2 POE, AIX, PR, and FH. To each his own.

There are, they're just few and far between.

They said there wouldn't really be a firm release date. Something like the beta would just continue to grow until everyone could just get it. You can google for more info.

So we know BF3 is in development, I am excited because Bad Company has done very well on the xbox 360, and I'm eager to see the PC engine and blow shit up.

Because it's not a PC oriented game. It's designed as a console experiment and I wouldn't want it for PC, tbh.
