FWIW: I copied the files from the c: \ProgramData\EA Core\cache\EADM\{ myemail@address.com }\bfbc2_dd\ to a dual layer DVD and wrote the serial on it with a sharpie. Took to my other computer and installed from the DVD and it worked fine. For you non-savvy pseudo-geeks out there if you can't find it you likely have the files hidden in your settings (which is default).

The torrent idea is fine also, the serial is what you pay for.

i've had some problems with the game crashing at the end of rounds... but for $20 i'm not going to complain.


also getting to play ME2 with all the DLC other than costumes for $20 is pretty awesome.

so i was playing on a 680i sli board with an old 8800gts 320... for whatever reason the solution to my crashing at the end of rounds problem was to force the game to run in dx9.

not much of an fps boost tbh, but at least i can play multiple rounds without finding a new server every time.

Can I Uninstall the EA Download Manager after I Complete my Download?

No. By installing the EA Download Manager, you are verifying that you are the licensed user of your purchased game.

This is what they claim on their site but I know for a fact the second machine I installed to from my backup DVD is a fresh Win7 install and I guarantee there is no EA Download Manager installed on it.

I'm guessing this varies by title and as usual, a large corp like EA has terrible communication issues within their operation. Here's the entire FAQ:

As I stated, I took the copied files from the machine I bought it from and installed off that DVD on my clean second machine. As far as I can see as long as I don't play from both machines at the same time I should be fine. It makes me quite uneasy that a company full of *ssholes like EA is in complete charge of this though. We all know they and their ilk cannot be trusted.

For anyone worried about this download thing, when it's done you will find a folder with all 5.4GB of files just like they would be on the DVD. In my case the folder was C:\ProgramData\EA Core\cache\EADM\{ email }\bfbc2_dd (where email is your EA login)
You can back up these files to a DVDR.

They give you a CD key, same as you get with the retail box. The key will be on the receipt after you make your purchase.

Yes. Once you download it, the full installer for the game as it would be on the DVD resides in whatever directory you have EADM set to for the "cache files". By default, it's under C:\ProgramData\EA Core\cache\EADM\{Whatever your ea login is}\bfbc2_dd.

The seller linked below looked shady at first, his location is China and he is selling the game for $18 per key. I figured it was probably a scam, but after checking his feedback there are tons of people that have purchased keys from him with no problems. The feedback left for him are from eBay accounts that have been registered for years and have tons of feedback themselves, so there is no way he created fake accounts to leave fake positive feedback for himself. I decided to go for it, and it worked fine. I saved $1.44 from Bing CB and another $5.44 because of my eBay bucks certificate that was just issued to me the other day, so I got the game for hardly anything.

No. Only Valve Retail or steam-purchased games may be registered and downloaded through steam. You can still add any title once installed to your steam install, but that's no more than the shortcut on your desktop is to the game.

Small gravedig here but I gotta tell this guy it doesn't work the same with BC2. If you bought on steam then you get full steam integration like patches, the friends overlay, and most importantly the ability to delete and install at will from Steam. If you bought elsewhere you can point steam to the game exe and launch it from there, but all other features are not there.

Bottom Line:
You cannot "register" your cdkey with Steam as you did with MW2 which REQUIRES steam because it uses Valve Anti Cheat.

Yes, but it doesn't let you join the game each other is in from this friends app, which is most of its usefulness. BC2 is a Punkbuster game also so expect to get booted from servers for the steam overlay (or any overlay from what I read).

yup... click the wrench to go to the settings...

under the Monitoring tab, in the section for Active hardware monitoring graphs scroll down to the bottom and select framerate then check the "show in osd" box below

it will show:

gpu temp
gpu usage
fan speed
core clock
shader clock
memory clock
memory usage
framerate


it also has support to show all of those on logitech G15/11 keyboard lcd's
