Yup I just got the confirmation email:

Thank you for shopping with us.

Watch us all end up with something not a game.
I have screenshots of the item page. If they send me what wasn't advertised, they're giving me a full refund.

That said... it WAS for a pre-order. Don't be surprised if all you bought was a pre-order reservation that will give you $19.95 off the retail price when you go to pick it up.

I have to admit I have a lingering feeling that could be the case.

I don't see how they could charge more. We agreed to pay the price which will be charged to the selected payment method when the product is shipped. The screenshot was a good idea, I should have done that as well.

You paid for a "pre-order" - the button CLEARLY stated "pre-order" on it. GameStop, BestBuy, etc. do it all the time. Pay $10 up front for a pre-order, we'll reserve you a physical game when they ship and as a bonus we'll apply the $10 from your pre-order as credit to the purchase price of the title.

If anything, I would expect GameStop to ship a "pre-order" package including a coupon or something. However, from the description listed on the item page, it sure did sound like it implied you were pre-purchasing the full game, not a pre-order. Why would a pre-order package SHIP on the day the title is released.

If that's the case, I'll end up with a refund and maybe get it on Steam so I actually get it on release, rather than two weeks after.

We already got the shipping confirmation. They aren't going to wait until the day it ships and then say "But first, you owe us $30!"

I still think it's a price mistake, but I would hope they aren't going to try and bait 'n switch on us like that.

Yeah, I got the $5 gift card as well. Sounds like the orders will be canceled, as expected. Still, I'm surprised to get anything. I would expect an email about a pricing mistake and cancellation, so the $5 card is gravy...if I ever find something I want with it.

I think they forgot to include the reason they were sending us all a 5$ gift certificate. It's not like they wanted to say "Thanks for your order on an awsome deal. We intend to make it even sweeter with this $5 gift certificate."

that is true but they also tell you that you are paying is a deposit towards the full price. Here they listed:

"$19.95 Online Price"

not a deposit

Didn't get any email about gift card. And my receipt clearly says what I purchased is the Battlefield 2 Bad Company PC Game. Tax and shipping were collected. No way I paid shipping for a deposit. At minimum, if they try to pull something, I will get my refund. But I think its legit.
