Can we all just agree not to buy it until it works as advertised? I have no issue with the IP, but we all know EA will still sell tons of Battlefield:Hardline copies to uninformed teenagers, soccer moms, and casual gamers. Let's say something about what they have done to a great brand by boycotting this game until they can fix the last battlefield.

P.S. this isn't even made by dice, it's obvious this game consists of the battlefield brand logo attached to a payday clone.

Looks very much like a game I have played before (CS) but modernised. Could be good, could be rubbish. A lot depends on whether they fix the problems with Battlefield before they release this really, gameplay mechanics working well to avoid shots around corners and inaccuracy due to the engine all need fixing before a game like this can be a success. CQB needs tight reliable mechanics and if it doesn't it wont compete well with CS:GO.

I think people are missing something big here. I know people are comparing this to CS because it's a US city based action FPS for a series (BF) that has is only second to Titanfall for being pretty much an MP game.

But this is being developed by Visceral. Who really haven't done much in the MP realm. This might be the first BF game to have a real SP campaign. Or at least has the potential to be one of the better "war" related series SP campaigns.

I was under the impression that there was no vehicles. If there isn't, and they focused it on a e-sports game they could definitely compete with CS:GO. If not, then its just a another CQB sideline title for BF.

Nearly every scene in the trailer involved vehicles, I would be extremely disappointed if there werent any in multi player.

There is a mode called Hotwire that looks like its all vehicles, but more like Burnout or NFS. The Blood Money mode looks to be CTF, probably with vehicles as well.

There is a mode called Hotwire that looks like its all vehicles, but more like Burnout or NFS. The Blood Money mode looks to be CTF, probably with vehicles as well.

Could be cool in frostbite to have car chases with destructible environments and vehicals. Running over a bench or watching car shot up during a chase while shooting out of the windows/back seat

BF4 is very nearly there. Its still got issues but a lot of the early issues got solved along the way. By the time its been out a year I suspect it will be a fully working product. BF Hardline I suspect will be the same, severely broken on release but fixed over months and months until its finally a working game.

Ouch, can't really help that COD sucks and there isn't even a fps that can come to being a contender to BF. Guess the crummy EA games are still just that much better at being fps and i guess despite being crummy still they are fun.

The Battlefield series is comparable to that of a alcoholic, you drink some alcohol or buy these games and know you could get screwed but in the end it still is worth it. Hope the analogy works cause its the best i got for the moment.Will reedit this post if i can find a better one for ya.:biggrin:

It's not so much on BF4's progress, it has lost quite a few active players. EA has been pushing games to lower quality, the Medal of Honor franchise has been killed thanks to MoH 2010 and Warfighter, same goes for SimCity, SW Battlefront, the Sims, C&C, recycling the same NFS, NHL and Madden crap, disolving companies like Bioware, Mythic, a couple EA departments from Vancouver and LA, and in progress of slowly killing DICE. And what bugs me the most is that EA has exclusive access to Star Wars IP for future games, I'm a big Star Wars fan and after seeing how SWTOR was handled... ugh no thanks.

Madden and NHL have been recycled games for nearly two decades with a couple refreshes here and there. Dice has been with EA for over a decade and is the least "forced" studio they have. Most of BF4 issues are DICE related and not EA and had more to do with DICE wanting to redo BF3 with the new Frostbite engine (FB3) they developed for EA to use on anything. EA may have pressured them to get it to the NG launch, but DICE pretty much had to with the work they were doing with AMD. Bioware hasn't been dissolved infact its one of the head studios. Mythic just got dissolved for failures with the WHO release that was 90% finished when EA bought them and the DK release which also sucked. It's been 15 years since DAOC and they really hadn't doing anything of note.

I know that I'm in the minority here, but I really enjoyed 2142. Is it better than its predecessor? No, but it was still a blast to play. I really like some of the stages (Fall of Berlin, Cerbere Landing, Minsk, and Camp Gibraltar) and the walkers / Titan mode were a blast to play.

I'm not sure where they are going with this one. Looks like CS but with crazy destructive environments. The story better be longer and more involved than the last game. Not sure how I feel about this one but I guess it looks cool.

I don't get the CS comparisons at all......not the least of which is the shooting mechanics: in CS you aim a a little cross in the middle of the screen, in BF you actually aim a gun model. That alone is a big enough difference to completely separate the two.

From what I saw in the preview video the levels kind of looked like the ones in CS. I don't think that the gameplay is comparable.
