It looks like they will be annoucing another battlefield game come June 9th

Battlefield: Hardline

Seems like they are starting to milk the game now if you ask me but IMO I hope its a game similar to BC2 as I really enjoyed that version. What are your thoughts on this?

Judging by some pics on the site I don't think it will be a game with the size of a normal BF game.

Yea I mean it looks like from the pics a cop and robbers type game so maybe it could be more counter-strike style in a sense.

These companies are losing their minds and ruining online gaming. These companies dont understand there is not an infinite amount of players to populate the lobbies thats why online games are "dead" after 6 months because all the kids move to a new game, and then everybody else cant find a match to join or it takes 5-10 minutes to find a full lobby.

I don't get why they would attach this completely unrelated game to the Battlefield franchise. It's added value must be limited since Battlefield's rep took a major hit with BF4 and now they even run the risk of devaluating it even more with Hardline, it's not even made by DICE.
They should give it a rest for a while and make sure the next true BF game is top notch from the start. But I'm sure EA execs know better than me.

That is their entire goal though. If you want to play a multiplayer fps with a functional sized community, and I do not mean the 3 servers left for cod4 bf2 and bc2, then you will need to buy their brand new awesome super* game every eight months or so. And just to further kick us in the nuts you'll need to pre-purchase the "premuim season pass" just to play as well or otherwise you are back to square one and three servers again.

So first off let's clear the trolls with fix BF4, that's heavily done and the rest is on the way. Second, this is a new Spin-off, just like the Bad Company ''Branch''. They do that to test new things then they throw what worked back into the ''mother-franchise'', the Battlefield 2,3,4...5. Also important to point out, this is not DICE, they are way too busy working on the new Battlefront which should be the MAJOR release for EA in 2015.

BFHL will not be planned as a heavy hitter like BF4, they know it will sell less and be overshadowed by Battlefront. This is a standard move from EA, testing new stuff for the big brother then using what they learned for the benefit of the upcoming BF5.

If you recall, the Bad Co. had a huge impact on the BF franchise, Frostbite, movement fluidity, guns, modes..etc..

Curious to see how it will go with BFHL, not as actual in-game fun but rather, what it will bring to BF5.

Oh one last note for the trolls, EA has released a BF game every two years since the first title, do your research.

PS; I don't defend them for doing what they do, just explaining how they work.

Apparently Viceral, so the guys doing Dead Space. But they may have added more teams, because I know they are also working on a Star Wars game and I don't think Dead Space is done (though a Hiatus would be good for that Franchise).

Man I recognize several maps right off the bat, Lancing Dam, Noshahr Canels, that single player map from BF3 (where the guys are grappling across roofs), Oasis (car chase scene).

Omaha was the codename while under development for the inner work of EA.

I was thinking Battlefield meets Payday, although I could definitely see GTA, without the open world. Maybe GTA without the filler side missions.
