I came relatively late to the party and just recently (some weeks ago) started playing BF4 although I also played BF2BC and BF3.

Seriously, there is no day where I am not having one or the other rage about this game. It is still so broken and full with glitchers and cheaters.

I see new people complaining about hackers all the time, when in reality it is simply them getting their anus handed to them on a platter by skilled players who know how to play the game. Don't be one of those guys! You can rage but please don't whine, its unbecoming.

Sure some of their tactics maybe less than honorable on the battlefield but this is a war game, not a gentleman's game of golf. The only thing broken in BF4 at the moment is the thermal optics in armor, they totally jacked it up in the last patch.

Hardline is pretty fun, Ive been playing mostly Hotwire (riding and repairing) to rack up some cash per Canbacon's advice. Its making my KDR look horrible but it is rather profitable.

I played a round of TDM just to see how the gunplay really is and I gotta say its good, the weapons and hit detection feel more accurate than BF4. TDM maps are tiny and the spawns are freaking horrible with enemies constantly spawning in what seems like your hip pocket, but the action is fast and furious and I like that. TDM in Hardline felt very similar to CoD4 to me, minus the stupid airstrikes and helos.

The launch seems to be going fairly smooth compared to what went on early with BF3 and BF4. On the downside Ive had several game crashes, one of which was a hard lock which required a power down to recover from.

Just find TDM servers that are 32 or less. If it is the "Block" map go sub 20. That map is a mess unless you do hostage rescue or VIP.

I really don't understand why they didn't take BF3's TDM spawn logic. BF4 deviated from the BF3's logic as well.

Yeah, Block is all Ive played so far in TDM and its total chaos with 32 players. I find it's best to just stay at a corner and wait, they'll spawn all over you in no time. LOL

I have been playing all the game types, except Crosshair. I only played a couple rounds of Resue too. Mostly I play Heist, Hardwire and Blood Money.

Little tip to rack up points, become squad leader. Not the squad leader? No worries, request orders. If your SL doesn't give you orders (most don't), you will become the leader in no-time.

Does anyone know how to get the Heist Return coins? It says you only need to return two bags in Heist. I've done this plenty of times, and still don't have a coin. Do you need to be the one to kill the carrier as well?

Seems like a lot of people seem to fondly remember their time playing that game, just like I do. But I appreciate your opinion, buggy games are indeed frustrating!

Oh don't get me wrong - it was an incredible game, and definitely a huge leap from BF1942. Despite its bugginess, I still played for a couple years.

I found BF3 a little disappointing (mostly map design gripes, nothing that isn't highly debatable), but found BF4 (and Hardline) to be excellent.

Haha what? You are talking about Battlefield 2, released in 2003 right? That game was pretty solid and I played from demo to +5 years after release.
BF2 came out in 2005, you're probably think of BF1942 which was 2002 and no neither were smooth- patches you downloaded were broken half the time and login didn't always work and hit reg was a mess.

32?? TDM is only 64 players on console, omg lol

Ah yes, I remember trying to find the specific patch for the version I had on an obscure website. The seperate exe files depending on the install were super annoying and then a very likely chance of the patch to corrupt the game requiring to install the game again and download a 300mb file again on 2003-5 speed line.

I'm just struggling to keep the game above 60FPS right now on my rig:

GTX 780 (non-Ti), i7-4770K stock, 16GB RAM, 1TB 840 EVO... @ 1680x1050 with 2xmsaa

Yea, this game has either more particle effects or it doesn't like to run in Windowed mode. If you are running in borderless, try exclusive full screen and try not to alt-tab out.

This game looks to be a poster child for G-Sync or Free-Sync monitors. My work computer and my home computer are around the same specs but my home computer has the SWIFT and it is just more enjoyable. My work computer just feels like molasses.

It's shocking how unbelievably effective this is I earned about $90k in a little over an hour and leveled up from 16 - 22 in that time. Holy damn.

It's more fun than I expected, too, as long as you don't get some IDIOT behind the wheel who

  • hasn't learned that cars can't be driven in 10 feet of water
  • hasn't learned that it's really stupid to play chicken with teammates driving toward you
  • hasn't learned that it's wholly unecessary to bail on your car when it hits 50 health and you have 4 engineers in tow

Just by spawning into a control point as an Engineer, I came in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in every single match and roped in more cash than I know what to do with. No doubt this will be shored up in the next patch, so go get it while the gettin's good.

Haha yup, also, don't forget to use your objective boosts in hotwire. This really helps with the assignment to get the Dino and Wolf mask by having 10million dollars in your bank.

Yeah i did the same for an hour or so last night. Amassed a nice pile of cash and went up a bunch of levels. Doing so on a hardcore server is even better, as it makes having active engineers in the cars more important and it opens up lots of opportunities to rack up a nice score without being in a car.

One of the reasons I play on HC servers a lot now is that, as an older person (I'm 38) with relatively slow reflexes, I often cannot keep on target for the 3 or so hits needed to bring someone down on a normal server. Its far more fun for me on a HC server, where 1 or at most 2 shots brings down an enemy. Makes me a lot more potent on the field. It also means your teammates have to be damn careful, as it is wicked easy to teamkill.

Apparently it would be fairly expensive to review video cards with this game:

http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/ea-infects-battlefield-hardline-with-new-ghastly-drm.html

Simple thing is just to call support and get their account whitelisted or granted an insane amount of activations. Also, it is a certain number of major hardware changes per hour. The majority of the public would not hit this.

But I digress, it is odd that they would put another layer on top of Origin. You can't play multiplayer without having an Origin login token to authenticate.

It was a hacking antimeasure to ban them more permanently. Funny thing is it backfired and no they can make unlimited free gametime accounts. Vanilla maps in BF4 are overrun with low ranked people at the top of the scoreboards. Rank 2 and going 24-3, right.

Only problem is that BF Hardline's hardcore is hardly hardcore, the health meter is still 100% just like normal servers instead of 60% like it is in BF4, BF3, BFBC2, etc.. Folks are not happy: https://battlelog.battlefield.com/bfh/forum/threadview/2955065241059269716/

On the flip side, regular mode feels like Hardcore thanks to a ridiculously low TTK. It's actually really starting to get on my nerves. I do like to play Hardcore now and then, but in Hardline, there's no escape. The whole game is Hardcore mode.

Forum post on the weapon changes are coming up.

http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bfh/forum/threadview/2955065241073453637/1/

Looks good but it doesn't fully address the K10 issue and doesn't even address the main problem with the 300 knockout.

The K10 needs to have its damage way lower as a 33 max damage is still a 4 shot kill. Combine that with a 1200rpm fire rate. It basically is no difference from the now 35 damage profile. A 25 or lower max damage would be ideal.

Ive always pretty much stuck to HC on all BF games because of their outrageous TTK's on normal. Right now I'd say Hardline's TTK is somewhere in between BF4's normal and HC. On BF4's health meter I'd put it around 75 to 80%, which is tolerable with full auto weapons but sucks for sniping. If one round to the torso from a bolt action sniper wont kill someone then something is horribly wrong!

okay playing it 'fullscreen' instead of 'borderless' makes it 60+ at 1680x1050 w/MSAA 4x

A question ... it is worth buying or wait for low price? Many people say it is like a battlefield 4 mod and for that price...
