the driving is a little rough around the edges (it seems driving gets worse and worse with each new Battlefield game), but damn it's fun so far.

I was riding shotgun and leaned out. we went came upt he right side of a semi truck, and i blasted the guy who as leaning out. He fell on the ground and got thrown off the hood of our vehicle as we hit him. We then drove up the side of the truck and I blasted the driver in the face, letting us take the vehicle.

If they are trying to re-create Bad Boys II, then mission accomplished. Will it have lasting power? Not sure, but the intro has me hooked.

I played it on ps4 (mostly just grabbed it whilst grabbing PS+ games). Not impressed at all with it. Graphics on ps4 are very meh, recoil is a little crazy and seemed hard to control. All that is ok to me though, and likely due to using a controller (which in just can't do for fps games). The driving physics though.....facepalm. Its like they just added in 'vehicle' at the last second. They just kind of float around, no dynamics, and they look ridiculous bouncing all over things. The bikes are even worse, its like playing those side scrolling bike games where you hit a box and go flying into the air. And maybe it was my settings, but vehicle sounds were utterly awful.

Maybe I'd find it better on PC, but at this point I'm trying to understand this game. It seems like a lot of effort went into it, for not much outcome. I get the premise any everything, it just seems not well executed. If all they were to do is take bf4, reskin characters, make new maps, and reskin some guns, I can't imagine it taking them this long to do it.

I miss bc2

Netcode and hit-reg is fine

Player speed is fine

Graphics and weapon models seem to be a notch or two lower than BF4

Vehicle driving and handling feels a little rough and wonky

Again I like the beta so far on the whole, however I am somewhat flabbergasted how they managed to make this cops & robbers game even more air dominated than previous military themed battlefield games. They increased the power of the mini bird while giving the players no AA weapons whatsoever - only way to take one down is to find a stinger on the map and maybe you can take one out. So unless you have a guy camping the house with a stinger all day long, one mini bird can literally win the map all by itself if a good pilot gets it.

I do like the heist game mode though, as long as the teams are reasonably balanced it's tons of fun.

I ended up playing a bit, I got a ton of kill trades, especially with shotguns (either using them or killing people with them). Other than that the netcode usually seemed fine

the driving physics are similar to bf4s dune buggys. just absolutely terrible physics, especially when you ar supposed to go airborne, hit a object, or powerslide

Just got the beta installed over night, haven't played yet but my BF friends have been playing nothing but Hardline for the last few days. From the sounds of it they're really enjoying it, particularly Hotwire.

Not buying this game due to the crap that were BF3 and BF4 upon release and still are today. The crap that is the patching team.

I'm skipping hardline and the next mainstream battlefield game they release. If either of those games are crappy I'm skipping two more games per crappy quality title.

I'm sure it's enjoyable. So is BF4, people loved the BF4 beta but the issues that their games have these days aren't acceptable. I want to game and have a nice time, not lurch myself into Stressfield 4 crash to desktop edition.

You can damage all vehicles with bullets, I think currently all bullets do 1 damage per shot. With sniper and pickups doing more. I think it was like this in bad company quite an enjoyable way to take out a chopper.

This is made by a different team, however.

Bit of an unfair assessment, no?

I tried mag dumping my rifle on a chopper directly above me and only did 5 damage so I dunno about that.

Played the beta for a few hours and so far I am enjoying it. After the 6 months of BF4 being completely unplayable for me though I'm not willing to drop $60 on this game. The gameplay and modes are fun, but it's a graphical downgrade and doesn't bring enough new to the table to justify the price tag. I'd much rather buy it a year down the line for half the price and with the bugs worked out.

It is, and it is kind of unfair, but still a DICE property and I'm sure profits will be going all across the board.

Trust me if the same Dice team doesn't release their next title for 10 years, that will be boycotted as well.

I was late to the BF4 party and just began playing it on the PS4 around Christmas. I've been playing BF4 a good bit and enjoying it a lot.

I downloaded the Hardline beta and it just feels like a skin job to me. You can "hack" AKA be commander. Even the commander actions are similar.

If I want to do cops and robbers... GTA V has that down considerably better. The driving mechanism was just awful to me for Hardline.

Assault rifles are almost hilariously useless at range, while snipers are getting one shot kills not even in the head. Graphics are 'meh'. Lacks destruction. Its a way crappier game than bf4.

I think this will get reviews/acclaim similar to Battlefield Vietnam.

Might hit a niche audience really well, but overall be average.

Driving was probably my most favorite in that game, but maybe that's the nostalgia talking.

10 years ago this would be a mod made by a dude in his basement for free. Now it's $70 to pre order. :sneaky:

The choppers are tough against bullets, even HMG's on the opposing choppers do little damage. Cars on the other hand go up in flames pretty quick under small arms fire.

I like that you can at least do something to them. The invulnerable little birds in bf4 are a little annoying.

Also the menus are great. You can save loadouts for kits. You can open battlepacks in game, etc. There is a lot of UI functionality in BFHL that I wish were in BF4.

I really like what I have seen so far. IMO, it's a completely different game than BF4. BF4 can be quite serious, with rage left and right. BFH seems like a chill version of it, where I can just play, have fun, and not worry about letting my team down.

The hotwire mode is insanely fun, and really the only mode I enjoy. Yes, the driving is wonky, but it's not too bad atm, and they may change it before release.

Overall, I think its a fun time waster, but I wouldn't consider it a 'full' game.

Played it for a little bit. It's okay... I guess? Feels like pretty much the same old BF3/BF4, with a new coat of paint. There's nothing particularly new or interesting to pull me in.

I'm surprised no one has commented yet on how absurdly obtuse and complicated the menus/UI are, even moreso than BF4's. That's quite an achievement.

The maps have so many lensflares and distractions, and the UI has so many things popping up. It's just all a huge mess. Damn.
