Just what about BF2 is so great to you? Everybody rants about how they want it back, but when I did go back to it, I found it unplayable. Sure it was good for the day, but for todays standards it is pretty bad.
Plus BF4 has "Classic" mode now which was taken from BF2, and its my favorite game mode.
I keep forgetting to download the beta. I'm obviously less than eager. It does look chaotic and different at least. I'll get around to it.
Agreed BF2 was pretty epic.
BF3 could be fixed pretty easily, fix commander mode, make better maps, fix lag-code, make better game modes. Remove rooftop field. Make vehicles more like they were in BF2, fix current game modes.
The Karkand maps were somewhat ruined by how you could go inside every building. And they just had this weird low frame issue to them.
I wouldn't call any of this nostalgia, just (quite a few) people preferring how things were initially and don't like the direction the franchise is going.
BF2 and BF3 feel like completely different games with completely different focuses. BF2 was more on team play where as BF3 focuses on the individual perks, awards, and such.
Wow that was a lotta whine............. I didnt say "me Know", I said "me thinks", did I not?Or maybe you shouldn't make statements about what multiple other people feel. Yes, its quite possible that some are just being nostalgic. Its also quite possible that some would truly prefer BF2's game play mechanics in a modern game.
Either way, how could you possibly know? Is it because you don't feel the same way? I would bet that you in fact like the newer game styles, so to support your argument you try to discredit ours by saying we are simply nostalgic, and that we don't know what we are talking about. I played the damn game just two years ago and found it to be EXACTLY what I want to this day.
So next time, instead of trying to discredit a group of people because you feel otherwise, try to post original thoughts about why you think that they are wrong.
My guess is that DICE got tired of the CoD franchise handing them their ass on sales and did what they felt they had to do to cut into more of that market share. Some like it, some dont, but that's just the way it is.I wouldn't call any of this nostalgia, just (quite a few) people preferring how things were initially and don't like the direction the franchise is going.

That doesn't make sense really because cod is also on PC as well as console. Not sure why they changed the mechanics of this BF but I'll only be renting it for the sp story.

Yea maybe they just named it like that off of the single player story.Im still confused about why they felt the need to put the Battlefield name in the title. IMO, its not really BF in any way, shape, or form. Sure there is a Conquest mode, but its cops vs. robbers not military forces facing off on a battlefield. Has anyone ever heard of a police force taking on massive criminal gangs in epic running battles like in Hardline? Closest thing I can think of would be the Policia Federal going against the drug cartels in Mexico.

Yea its basically a cheap skin of BF4, with worse graphics than the before. I only played on the ps4 and it looks bad compared to the previous game. The gameplay mechanics are all over the place..it's like they took capture the flag and conquest and just threw in the new theme of cops and robbers and piles of money. Hotwire is the only new thing which is somewhat fun.It feels like a mod. It just doesn't seem right for the engine and format . Though to be fair, I was only able to play conquest - and I believe that mode does not belong in the game at all. It does not seem to have a lot of tactical base to it. The mixture of types of player classes, vehicles, and objectives don't seem to be very fitting for a "cops and robbers" game. So hopefully when I get a chance to play in the other modes it would be a better game, but this game will definitely alienate the traditionally Battlefield crowd.
-- Edit -- And I honestly did not read any previous postings from other users here until I posted, so it seems I share the same sentiments. It really is not the format BF should be. If EA was wise, they should of contracted this title out to a different developer.
Oh and jets need to have infantry bombs like there were in BF2.
Sounds worse than the last sp campaigns ..I'll skip this one all together. Didn't enjoy the beta at all in multiplayer.Watched some of the single player on Giantbomb. Looked lame. Bad voice over, stiff animations, cheesy story without any redeeming qualities, and tone-deaf representation of the police force. Over zealous, "riding the line between good and bad" cop stuff use to be funny in the 90's, but man its kind of weird to see it in a game with all the other issues with police going on right now.
Warrantless searches and pointing your gun at random people to get information felt weird to watch, and I doubt I'd want to play it.
