You also get some kind of way to get more xp, and you get the game some days earlier.
I don't care that a woman is on the cover. Or that it is not very historically accurate. BF has gone to great lengths before for accuracy, but I don't see where they have to. Its pretty clear they're trying to include everyone with the last two covers.

Looked at pre-ordering, and the only difference between the $60 and $80 version appears to be skins and wallpaper? I don't care about either.

With battlefield one I got the standard and purchased the extra season pass later as I knew I was going to continue playing. The extra skins didn't really cater to me as I don't really customize my loadout at all.

I think this guy might be a litter over-optimistic because he's wants classic Battlefield action so badly, but he does point out some key changes that switched me from "don't care" to "will keep an eye on." And at least it's not a typical omg new game hype YT vid. He understands what BF is well. I'd suggest you go check out his BF 1982 concept vids if you've never seen them. Then go petition DICE to make him lead designer.

I'm confused though, I'm getting conflicting reports on 3d spotting? Is it in or not? I also hope we don't have a horrid unlock grind, especially for vehicles. It really made BF4 not fun for me.

I'm not clear on what's going on precisely with 3D wallhack show-me-where-to-aim spotting, but I get the impression it's going to dialed back in power. If true it'd be a good start -

If they slow things down too much or go back to that awkward sluggish player movement from the BF's of yesteryear then I'm definitely out.

Getting rid of spotting entirely wouldn't bother me as I prefer playing on hardcore servers now.

Strange how preferences with shooters seem so rigid. These are opinions so I guess that’s what happens

I’m the opposite, I’d prefer slower movement and no spotting.
I want it to take time to get back to where the firefight is at.

It's like they say, different strokes for different folks but If it takes too long then the game becomes more of a chore than fun for me. I like the current set up of BF1-4, I didn't enjoy the old running simulators.

Personally I think it's better to accomplish that by increasing distance between flags/bases, than to slow player movement.

I'm not quite sure what you mean sluggish. I think the vaulting, while more realistic, makes it more sluggish; better to have a slightly exaggerated jump ability. I certainly don't want to go back to brutally limited sprint stamina if that's what you mean.

As far as "running simulators" people could still use that term as an objection to larger maps, but
Battlefield will always have small meatgrind maps for those that want that, but it can also have larger maps with big space between flags for those that want that, too. Or, it could if they would agree to; there's no objective reason they can't support both camps.

Calling people who prefer some semblance of history in their games snowflakes is as about as backwards as you can get. The snowflakes are those that demand history be rewritten or changed to suit their present twisted agendas. I'm still playing BF1 even though it's historically whacked too, but I'm going to have to see more of V before making a purchasing decision.

You mean being able to spam medic and ammo packs everywhere? Revive someone to full health somebody that died from a C4? Or that you can be in a building that can't be blown up by a tank? The only change is that you're allowed to customize your player by gender and snowflakes are up in arms upset.

The team changes have been much needed as there are too many lone wolves.

You cant customize your character's gender, at least not in BF1. It is what is, just like in the real world regardless of today's snowflakes who like to think there are 64 genders.

BTW, I wouldn't care if there was no revive at all, it's ridiculous to think someone who has died (by any circumstance) can instantly be brought back to fighting condition instantaneously. I'm all for more realistic game play, one bullet should kill you, another reason I prefer hardcore.

Pre BF3 there was no prone or strafe running and it always felt sluggish and awkward to me, the game is far more enjoyable with today's more fluid motion.

I don't mind the larger maps if there are plenty of vehicles and I can spawn on anyone. I agree that having both types of maps should be a no brainer, Im guessing very few people want to play the same type of map all of the time. It's the island maps that irritate me the most, I'll kill myself and redeploy before I'll swim from one flag to another. LOL

Battlefield 2 had prone, did you start with BC2? And while I agree with much of BF2, it also had sprint stamina which isn't good for a middle ground game; too milsim. What about the strafe running; does BF4 have it? I've been playing BF4 lately and I hadn't noticed strafing. Is it a BF1 thing?

I've played all the BF's some, but yes BC2 was the first one that really held my interest. BF3, 4, and 1 all have the ability to strafe and once you are used to it there's no going back.

Early on I was really into UT, Q3A, and later CoD4 so the speed and movement of the early BF's really weren't my type of game, but even now that I'm older and much slower I still don't want to go back to that slow of a pace.

Asking for some semblance of realism for the setting is much different than the gameplay. I find this to be an irritating response. So why even bother making it a world war 2 game if it gets just about everything wrong as far as the setting and tone goes? Nobody is asking for a hardcore ww2 simulator; They ask that the setting at least somewhat resemble WW2, otherwise what's the point? War simulation was never the calling card of the battlefield series, so I find it stupid to suggest that everything has to be realistic when people complain about major historical inaccuracies. Also, i'll agree with DeadFred in that people demanding equality here are the snowflakes. We don't always like how things happened in the past, but that doesn't mean we should re-write it to fit nicer with our ideology.

I don't think anybody here demanded equality once. People just said they didn't give a flying fuck about it, it's a video game. Big difference. It never occurred to me to want to be able to customize my character in battlefield but now that they are letting people do it, it seems a bunch of us don't care that we can now choose a gender and different races or what not. But it seems there are a bunch of people really mad about it. Snowflakes.

I better have the option to choose having giant bouncing boobs just like in Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball, If not I will become triggered and have to go scream at the sky. I also want laser blasters installed into my giant bouncing boobs' nipples and I demand to be able to wield a lightsaber, after all its just a video game.

Hyperbole much? Sounds like you got triggered and threw a foaming at the mouth hyperbole party in your head just here. Deep breaths snowflake.

Hardly, just making fun of your ridiculousness. As I said earlier, just the mere idea of anyone disagreeing with you sends you into unhinged rants screaming about snowflakes, which in turn makes you a perfect example of a snowflake. But by all means please carry on, I enjoy the show.

It was 10% off, so I pre-ordered the deluxe version.

Do you find it ridiculous that people had their panties in a twist calling for more diversity in games like this? Or that people are upset after the fact when diversity was implimented? You can't make everyone happy. People get upset if TV shows, movies, games, etc don't include every sort of "minority" (gender, sexual, racial, etc). People get upset if its forced too.

My stance on females on the front line has been stated before, but I don't care about it in a game. I have chosen female characters before in games, as a tactical advantage. They were smaller in stature, and had a smaller hit box. So it was a smaller target than a male. As long as hit boxes are the same, I don't care if we can customize characters or not. In games that allow it, I always leave it as the base. I just don't get into the whole cosmetic part of it. The only thing I ever change, is clothes to blend in with a certain map. Like green camo sucks for snow maps, etc.

I didn't have much of an inkling of the strong desire of some to diversify video game characters until this battlefield V thing happened. And I don't see the problem. It doesn't bug me either way. I can still be a white dude, which is what I am in real life, in the game. So it's all good. These are video games, at the end of the day it makes sense that people of other genders and ethnicity and races want to also identify when they play. I totally get their position and it's just fine. Battlefield is not a simulation, so why do people give a shit if you can now play as a chick character, as an option? If it was a strict WWII simulation obviously there would be a problem, but it's just inspired by WWII, and it's a video game so they have creative license to do whatever they want. If you are still really pissed off about it, go play as a white dude, and make it your mission on a server to go find every non white-male character and take them out, you sick fucks

All that really matters is that BR doesn't take over focus from Conquest. Knowing DICE though they could try to claim that the "telemetry" indicates that population numbers support such a shift yet conveniently wouldn't release details -
