Hmmm. It actually is looking better overall than previous BFs.

What's up with these games anyway? all kinda look and feel the same......bored...
Then make a modern or futuristic game instead of trying to re write history. This is sjw pandering to me... Just not as extreme as andromeda was.
Well its not horrible and it may grow on me after I get more time with it. It just feels slow, but I havent tried the Operations mode yet and that looked like the better game mode from the videos I've seen.Got mine yesterday but I have a date tonight so I probably won't get a chance to play. It's battlefield, how bad can it be? As long as they didn't go cod style I'm sure I will still like it.
I have yet to buy it. I played some battlefield the night before they sent the alpha codes out and the next day seems I got one. So it was probably random how they sent them out to people.
Yea you are probably correct. Last time I played I was on a 750w PSU and an i7 6700k, different board, less memmory too. Although my buddy also upgraded to similar specs except 16gb ram and he didn't get a code.I'm guessing they are doing a cross section of hardware specs; the last time I played BF1 was on the R7 2700X 1080 Ti box, but then the PSU needed RMA'd so I am playing on the i7 4790k R9 290 box. But I did play some BF1 on the i7 box too?
Pretty sure I am submitting the PC hardware metrics through Origin...
Alpha codes are out, check your email.
Played a couple of games, not a fan so far. Feels like a huge step back, you old BF fans might like it.
I've been skeptical that it would be an improvement based on the verbal descriptions from DICE, but if fans of BF3 and 4 think it's a step back it might actually be a step forward for fans of the previous games. And so the wheel of fate turns...maybe. I didn't get a key yet.
Played some more on both conquest and operations and I'm just not digging it and honestly I'm not sure you will either. While it does have a few things that make teamwork more important, low ammo/health etc. the game play speed and flag separation is about the same as BF1-4. But.......it is all horribly interrupted by the new bleed out/revive/spawn system which I absolutely despise along with crappy animations that add nothing but aggravation. I don't think this is what you older BF fans really had in mind for slowing down the game play. It could be fixed but that would require removing a lot of stuff that I'm sure they've put a lot of time and effort into adding so I don't think that's gonna happen.
Oh, but the spotting should be about right for you. Personally as a twitch type player I can take or leave spotting, it doesn't really bother me one way or the other. I don't really look at the mini map much to check spots and unless I'm sniping I actually consider myself being spotted an advantage because it lures people right to me. LOL
Yeah this is the same map we've seen in the videos that GoodRevrnd posted above and its pretty small with easy sprinting distances between each flag. So no changes there, at least not on this map.You might be right; don't get me wrong, I like the infinite sprint and some of the stuff of new BFs, my way of slowing things down would be larger maps, with more spaced out bases (which I assume you guessed when you mentioned flag separation).
I never had a problem with 2D active-only spotting though - just 3D spotting and audio spotting -
Isn't the squad spawn exactly the same as BF1-4? The only difference I've noticed is the notification they now flash on the screen if you are the last remaining squad member, I guess that is supposed to mentally amp up the tension. lolPlayed a few hours last night. For the most part it feels like a reskin of bf1.
I like the squad revives. Makes it much easier if nobody is playing a medic and makes squad cohesion way more important. It felt like the squad spawn was more important too. That if you're the last person you REALLY want to stay alive if you want to be able to push points.

Yes, that is definitely the case on Grand Operations. If your squad gets wiped there, then you either have to re-jump from a plane or run from a home base to get to the objectives.I think it has to do more with how far the flags were from objectives on the maps I was playing. It felt like if I didn't spawn on a squad mate it was much harder to get on a flag. However I was playing a lot of operations. I think maybe they increase the 'in combat' spawn lockout. It feels harder to spawn than I remember.
