Picked Battlefield Vietnam up at my local Circuit City for $29.99 (regularly $39.99). No rebates or any of that junk. They had plenty of copies this afternoon.

I think EA wants them on sale right away to get some copies into circulation, to start the "feeding frenzy". As with BF1942, word of mouth will sell more copies than any printed ad.

yea, I pass by my local CC and they have TONS of Battlefield Vietnam on its own display but they have no more UT2k4.

I bought BFV already, and it flat out will not play on my system. It simply crashes constantly. I tried a fresh install of XP and it still crashes horribly. This game is the buggiest game I've ever seen released.

Funny, the thousands of people playing online every night didn't seem to have any trouble installing and running the game... myself included.

I dont know if this is the same , but I had tons of crashes with bf1942 mods until I ungraded my nvida graphics card driver. It took care of the problems. I just noticed nvida has a new driiver dated march 3, 2004 so Im updating again.....

We had BFV on a LAN and about every hour someone would crash to the desktop and have to rejoin. I found it quite buggy as well and this was on several computers with different components...

Maybe its like that issue Call of Duty had with ATI cards, where you had to turn off an option to get it to run correctly.

EA is notorious for releasing buggy games... BF1942 was SUPER buggy for months after it was released... In fact, I don't think they really fixed all the bugs until a few weeks ago with the V1.6 patch and introduction of punkbuster... Just in time to release BF: Vietnam!! hahaha, what a joke... Anyway, let's hope EA makes BF: Vietnam in working condition faster than they did with BF1942...

Have you tried to run your system withOUT overclocking?

I have this running on 9 systems all, with different chipsets and vid cards(2 p4's 1 pIII, 2 AMD thouroghbred, 2 AMD Palmino, 1 AMD Barton, & 3 GF3's, 1 GF4, 1 GF2go, 1 Radeon 7000, 1 Radeon 9700, 1 Radeon 9800PRO), not one has had any serious crashing issues. The biggest issues seem to be solved by installing the latest vid. drivers.

and YES, we bought 9 copies of the game.

i used to do this all the time in Atlanta. but then i guess corporate passed word down to stop doing that and i started getting shot down all the time at every Atlanta store cuz "they cant stack pricematch and coupon." but i just did it successfully here in New York. no hassle whatsoever. probably depends on what clerk you get.

Picked up 2 of these for my brother and I. We havn't had a single crash or problem on my system with a Radeon 9800 Pro or on his with a Geforce4 Ti4200. Great game & deal.

Bump for a good deal. CC in Minnetonka, MN claimed they were getting BFV in tomorrow. I played along, grabbed an ad, went over to BB in Minnetonka and scored a copy for $30. Quite a few left on the shelf.

From what I have read, I think you get that when you buy a Gamer GiftCard from bestbuy and inside the package there is a coupon for $5 off $20. Be warn that some coupons had expire 12/31/2003. Word around said that the black cd case one is the newer one that doesn't expire till June 04.

I'm w/ Caveman on this one. Updated all latest drivers (VC, sound, Mobo) and I can't play this game more than 5 min's w/out a freeze or crash to desktop. My system is similar (chipset/VC), so I'm wondering if it's not a nforce2- or 9700 pro- or combination of the two - problem. Never had this prob w/ any other games, & I've played them all. As far as the 1,000s of people playing online w/ no probs, of the 10 people w/ high-end machs in my local gaming club, 5 have chronic performance & stablility issues. Anyone else have any ideas?

Picked it up last week,they still have it for $30. as of today.

What a great game! It plays pretty smooth over all but I do get some cracklin noise with the audio. I'm sure they wil be coming out with a patch shortly to fix things up.

The game IS buggy, and if you look closely, those thousands of ppl online are complaining about it. Also, read the README.TXT as it has some last minute issues, esp for ATI cards (which NEED the "Application Preference" box checked in the Ati control panel.). Also make sure to update your video driver and cross your fingers 'cause even when this game runs good it's a hog.

Yeah I wish people would quit acting like there's nothing wrong with the game and people with problems are causing them. I had to spend an hour editing *.con files to get the game to run correctly. The game is fun but it should not require so much work to play it. If it worked straight out the box for you congradulations and enjoy.

Your logic doesn't add up, sorry. If the game was indeed buggy, it would affect most everyone playing. Quite the opposite is true, the most people have no issues playing it right out of the box myself included. Sorry to hear you're having issues, maybe you should look for a problem within your system.
