How many Basestars did the Pegasus end up taking out? 3 is the correct answer, and i think battlestar took out one too, so that's the 4 that where there but i forget if battlestar took out the basestars......... 3 min 4 total.

Agreed. Plus making Baltar a Cylon would destroy his entire character, and a huge part of the substance behind the story. He couldn't be the betrayer of the human race if he wasn't even a human.

To me, I think we are going to see a variation on the original series and Baltar will end up leading the Cylons since he showed them that he understood humans better than them.

I just hope Lucifer doesn't show up.

I don't think Galactica got one itself.

Pegasus jumps in and suprises one Basestar, rams a 2nd and explodes, while a 3rd one gets tagged by the starbord pod blown off the Pegasus.

Some more trivia:
The actor that plays viper pilot Hot Dog is Edward James Olmos' son.

One thing I liked with this episode is that they established the relative size of Basestars. They always seemed massive to my eye, but when the Pegasus rammed one it was about the same size as a Battlestar.

Keep in mind that the Pegasus is larger than the Galactica.

Here's what I'm thinking on the subject of Baseship vs Battlestars.

Baseships are designed to launch weapons and raiders. Battlestars are (from what I've seen) heavily defensive-based, relying on the inability of enemy weapons to penetrate the perimeter of the ship.

I think the original battle-plan was to have several battlestars for each baseship- therefore each could absorb some damage, while still allowing for fire to be traded with those massive bow railguns(?).

EDIT: Ok, from Wiki. Galactica and Pegasus are different classes. Galactica has no bow-mounted weapons. Just turrets with rather large guns that can switch between anti-ship and flak rounds.

Pegasus is a Mercury-class Battlestar and has both point-defence and bow-mounted cannons.

Oh dear, I just read up on this, too. Pegasus had Viper-production facilities. Now they have no way of resupplying their viper fleet.

But the Cylons were just pwned by a surprise attack and will think twice about attempting to genocide the human race very soon again. I hope they all find Earth and then have a spin-off series where they go and kill off all of the Cylons!

Well, Im sure thye have enough materials to just keep the ones they have going. Also, didn't they make some (not on pegasus, but on Galactica?)
